★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Comfortable seating in a nice quiet garden. We had the guacamole and tuna ceviche - both very good. For beers, the Baltic Porter easily rivals mainstream options available in the US. Also liked the rye IPA. To top it off, the place is dog friendly and provided water for our pup.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lots of potential for this newer cervecería. We’ve been there three times ands staff is very friendly. Food is good but very few Gluten Free or vegan options. Fresh corn tortillas and papas fritas (chips and French fries) or grilled vegetables would help. How about gourmet chicken wings? Their beers are flavorful and a bit unique (they have a tasty Meade also which of course is not beer). I’d like to taste more of their own beers instead of guest brewery beers. Recommend with room for improving.

Cerveceria Ocho Maltas is somewhat off the beaten track, out the western end of Ajijic. Although it's signposted reasonably well on the main road to Yocotepec, it's still easy to miss if you're not careful.
That said, the place is definitely worth seeking out if you're after some good craft been and a decent lunch.
Service and atmosphere are frankly excellent, and the quality of what's on offer is first-class. Prices are a little on the high side, but not extravagant, given the quality of the offerings.
This will become a regular haunt. Highly recommended...
