My now husband and I hired Chef Christian through our wedding planners to cater for our destination wedding 5 weeks ago in Cancun. I am only just writing this review as we tried to get answers from the chef after our wedding from our planners. We traveled to Cancun in February to do a tasting which we paid for. Both Chef Christian and our planners were present at tasting. At tasting we confirmed details of 4 canapes,4 course meal, and after party snacks for our 95 guests and asked all the questions we needed to know. Here are the things we agreed upon with the chef that was NOT delivered: 1. The soup was served cold at our wedding. When we inquired our wedding planners told us that we agreed to a cold soup. This is a absolutely false. We tasted a hot soup at tasting. 2. The portion sizes of the entree were exceptionally small. At tasting we asked chef what the actual meal size would be. He assured us it would be bigger than what we had at tasting. Our wedding guests were served meals smaller than the tasting. (There are pictures of both to show the difference) 3. For dessert we had one option of creme brulee(my favourite). This was served with a soggy, melted burnt sugar top. We all know what the top of a creme brulee supposed to be like. I noticed my guests scraping the top off. Burnt soggy sugar isn't the most appealing thing to eat 4. We agreed that every course needed to have a vegetarian options because of our diverse guest list. For afterparty snacks we agreed to chicken and veggie fajitas. No veggie fajitas was served or available. So all my vegetarian guests and guests with dietary restriction or who couldn't eat chicken were turned away. We are highly disappointed as food was one of our top 3 priorities for our wedding, not only because we wanted to give our guests the best but also because our guest list was very diversed (various cultures, religions etc). We stressed this point to the chef and our planners. We went into detail about everything and what we wanted. We selected a chef who we thought would deliver on this and give us what we paid for (his rate was the highest of all the quotes we got.) We have not been able to contact him ourselves since our wedding but through our planners he said that he's moved on and he will not be compensating in any way. No explanation, no apology. How sad, the biggest event of our lives that we worked so hard towards to give our guest the best. I do not recommend this Chef at all. Feel free to contact me with questions or further details (pricing etc).

My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner and the exceptional service. Our waiter, David, made the whole experience fun and treated us like family. He had an extensive knowledge of the food and shared the background of the ingredients. Everything tasted amazing!

Chef Cristian Morales is back after being closed for most of the pandemic! If you are looking for the culinary experience of a lifetime in the heart of Cancun, we cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough! The chef prepared a bespoke 7 course tasting menu with a wine pairing for us for our honeymoon. The meal combined elements of traditional mexican with elements of global fine dining (think prosciutto topped carnitas on a corn flat bread or sashimi in mole and a mango salsa). The Chef's creativity, skill, and boldness was showed off in each dish along with the richness of the Mexican terroir and seas. The restaurant itself is a converted mansion. It was a bit tricky to make a reservation (we made one in person the day before), but I believe you can make one on the website. David, who ran the front of house, took excellent care of us and spoke fluent english. You will not find many meals of this caliber anywhere and never at this price!
