★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We ended up in Celestún during a rain storm that flooded the streets. We headed that direction originally because apparently there are flocks of flamingos. The rain was so heavy we didn't end up locating the flock. Unsure if we'd be able to get back across the causeway, we got a recommendation at a gas station for a place to hole up, wait it out and get dinner. We were directed to Chivirico. Don't be afraid, just go in! What it lacks in ambiance it makes up for in food. I had probably the best ceviche of my life here, which made me care less that we were watching things float down the street and hoping the rain stayed below the floor line of our rental. My trip to the Yucatán was all-over wonderful, but our pitstop at Chivirico was a highlight.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow!!! We did the lobster Thermador and blue crab!!! This place was amazing!!!! This alone was worth the trip to celestum but now to the pink Flamingos!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Looks a little sketchy from the outside but not to be missed. We were here for three weeks and tried as many restaurants in town as we could; this place tied with La Playitas as our favorites. Best margaritas (order them "rocas" not blended...duh) great ceviche, crab claws (seriously OMG!), octopus, and fried fish.
