Trip with community tours to Sian Kaan park was one of the highlights of our 2 week trip to Mexico. The reserve is breathtaking. During the trip we saw several manatees, crocodiles and numerous birds. But floating in the lazy river was absolutely the best!

Friendly, knowledgeable tour operators. Did not get to see much of the fauna but the boat driver and guide tried their best.

Couldn’t have chosen a better tour! Our guide Joaquin, was incredible — he was personable, and both knowledgeable and passionate about the resources, wildlife and the landscape. Community tours is focused on education, conservation and preservation of ecosystems and devotes much to sharing culture, customs, and history. We were concerned about price, but once we took the tour, we knew we made the right choice. So worth it and made our experience on the Yucatán Peninsula so special. It was a full day of adventure — They picked us up from where we were staying early in the morning (Id recommend earlier tours over afternoon), were great at communicating, and organized. Their office is in downtown Tulum, and they are happy to help with any questions. From “tamale” snacks to floating down the canals with our awesome and fun guide Joaquin, we would do this trip again in a heartbeat. Choose community tours and support the locals, the landscape, and ecotourism!

Great tour in a beautiful place. A must when in Tulum (access via Muyil). Our guide Memo was very friendly, knowledgable and you can see that they really care about the environment

Highly recommended! Thankfully we chose this agency over other travel agencies. The difference is that this tour drives you for 15min up to the Laguna de Muyil and then you have a full 4h boat ride in the biosphere. While other agencies offer you a tour near the ocean, which means 4h of drive on a bumpy road for 20min of boat ride. Our guide tour and all people involved, seemed to have a genuine passion for their job and nature. And this made our experience even more valuable. The price seems a bit steep (125$) but is a fixed price among various travel agents and eventually was the best money we spend during our Mexico trip. Communication was fast and easy through Whatsapp in English. To book our trip, get updates on our pick up and any other information we needed. You have to pay on site upfront. Try to catch the 7am trip as it gets very crowed with Group 2 arriving at 13:00, but also due to the intense sunlight.

Very disappointing, i did a reservation weeks before arrival , confirmed the hour of arrival the same day early morning, they confirmed my reservation. I have done quite a trip to get to the meeting point ahead of time and indeed representative of community tours was there with no interest to attend me after half an hour of waiting i found out that they don't have boats.. i paid in advanced, i have had contact via WhatsApp and ended up with canceled trip, lost time and money to get there. Don't waste your time for booking in advance , they don't respect it. Not even sorry word from them. You better go there and see if available and willing to take you..

This is such an amazing and beautiful tour! The fact that it is a community led and runned program makes it that much better! Our guide Javier and staff were fun, easy to be around with, knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna, this sites history as well as the various ecosystems that you will get to see throughout the entire tour! I'm so glad that this reserve is protected from the ever growing resort expansion that can be seen in along the coast of the Riviera Maya. This reserve serves a great eco adventure that not only promotes conservation of mangrove forests and other coastal ecosystems, but also benefits the local communities. Mangroves are important nurseries for many species, so I highly recommend bringing a snorkel for the Mayan canal where you can see the submerged roots of the red mangrove providing habitat for fish and crabs + you'll also get to see the carved edges of the limestone walls in the Mayan canal and learn its history from your tour guide! Will definitely be coming back!

Beautiful... terrible ride getting there though. The area is still developing so the roads are terrible 3hr drive that would have been 1.5 had the roads been better.
