★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La plaza y la iglesia son bonitas. Tiene un quiosco y las clásicas letras con el nombre del municipio. Lo mejor es que está limpio y permite apreciar el piso de piedra. Recomiendo ir cuando se hace la Feria del Elote.
The square and the church are pretty. It has a kiosk and the classic letters with the name of the municipality. The best thing is that it is clean and allows you to appreciate the stone floor. I recommend going when the Elote Fair takes place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La niebla es su clima típico, este pequeño pueblo se encuentra enclavado en la zona montañosa central, muy cerca de la capital del Estado.
Coacoatzintla fue un pueblo prehispánico, de los totonacas del eje Cempoala-Tlacolulan. Por decreto de 1889 se extinguieron los municipios de Paxtepec y Chapultepec, anexándolos como congregaciones al de Coacoatzintla. Del 24 al 26 de julio se celebra su fiesta patronal en honor a Santiago Apóstol. Aún se conservan algunas fachadas de principios de siglo XX y en su iglesia se puede leer que el 20 de mayo de 1857 se terminó de construir.
Algunos descendientes de familias de antaño oriundas de este lugar ahora viven en Naolinco y Xalapa.

Coacoatzintla was a prehispanic town, of the Totonacas of the Cempoala-Tlacolulan axis.
