★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Último reducto de lo que fue un gran convento franciscano en Toluca, demolido en el siglo XIX para construir la actual catedral. Se ubica dentro de los portales laterales de la manzana, escondido e intacto.
Con la “Ley Lerdo, se pretendía que todas las fincas rústicas y urbanas que hoy tienen o administran como propietarios las corporaciones civiles o eclesiásticas de México, se adjudicaran en propiedad a las que las tenían arrendadas, por el valor correspondiente a la renta que en la actualidad pagan, calculada como rédito, al seis por ciento anual”. Esta fue la principal razón por la que gran parte de las construcciones virreinales fueran destruidas; por alguna razón, está portada fue respetada, el resto del complejo conventual no corrió con la misma suerte.
