★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome shop, took great care of us. We did two different trips with them and they worked with us. They are the only shop that takes the time out to read your email and address in of your concerns.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great dive school with excellent teachers! Did my OWD with them and had a great time! Ask them for their Cozumel dives, they're awesome!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hands down the single worst diving experience in my 20 years of diving. I will list the issues:
1.The dive had terrible visibility, less than 9 metres, which is no fault of the dive shop – I do not recommend diving in the area.
2.The boat could not find the dive site and floated around looking for it while everyone on board got seasick.
3.In fact, the sea was so choppy that day that everyone became seasick.
4.Divemaster got lost underwater on the first dive, we swam in a circle until he found the reef, which meant we lost precious minutes on our dive. This loss was compounded by the fact that the other two divers were doing their first deep dive – so they sucked down their air limiting us to 25 minutes (with Nitrox). I had extensively conversed with the shop before the trip to ensure I would be on an advanced, interesting, deep and long dive – why they would choose to put me with beginning divers made no sense.
5.Dive itself was terrible, there were little fish and not much reef – I do not recommend diving in the area.
6.The second dive was worse – I have never been on a dive that was crowded underwater! It was like being in an underwater mall. Again, there were little fish and almost no coral – I do not recommend diving in the area.
7.We were transported by the Divemaster in his pickup truck, and while preparing to depart from the marina to the shop, the Divemaster demanded I remove my swimming suit to ride in the car. I was shocked. My swimsuit was a full body suit, so I explained it was not the wetsuit, I had already removed that. No matter, he insisted. I had to ride back in my undergarments as I had no change of clothes (since I was wearing a full body suit).
8.The Divemaster demanded I use a computer for the dives, which was fine, until he wanted to charge me for it after the dives but did not mention a fee beforehand.
9.After the dive I was told I had to pay in cash – not before. Of course, I had no cash. When I informed the dive shop, they recanted and said I could pay with a credit card but that they would have to charge me an extra fee for using it. Wildly inappropriate to do after the dive.
10.They provided no water and no food, not even a snack, for guests.
11.I carried a small bag to hold my hat, sun lotion, sunglasses, etc. I understood that it could become wet, but endeavoured to keep it out of the wet areas on the boat by placing it in an overhead rack. I succeeded until the very end when the boat’s captain took my bag out of the dry area and tossed it where the tanks and extra anchor were – which was underwater. He did not do that with the Divemasters bag, which had been with mine. I was shocked.
12.Finally, the coup de grace, upon surfacing from our 3rd (of 3) dives that day, we found ourselves alone. There was no dive boat to pick us up. We bobbed on the surface for the better part of 20 minutes with no boat on the horizon. I have never had a dive boat leave divers behind. The boat did eventually return, why they’d left I have no idea, and we climbed aboard. No explanations or apologies were given for the disappearance and our wait.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Received my diver certification here and they where incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. Benji was my Dive instructor and taught the class in German and English at the same time due to classmates from different countries. He was incredibly through even though he had to do twice the work. Will be coming back for more diving.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited Playa del Carmen twice in the past year, and both times went diving with the nice folks at Divemex. They are mostly Germans, but all speak English, so it's never a problem. Equipment is well maintained and the shop efficiently run. More importantly, Marco, Hana, Sara, Jens, Holger, and Dirk are all super friendly and a lot of fun. We also ended up going out a couple of times in the evening with these people too. Great place. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We received our SSI Advanced Adventurer cert here & had an incredible time! All the instructors were so helpful & genuinely cared about us improving our diving skills. The groups are kept small & the team was fun & easy to work with. Looking forward to coming back in the future!
