★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic place. Huge portions so come hungry or share an entree - seriously. Definitely off the beaten path so you’ll get great authentic local food but helps to know some Spanish. It’s cash only but they take dollars with pesos for change.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best meal I had in Playa. You feel like you’re eating in an abuelas kitchen (very tight space) but everything was homemade. Definitely get the Pozole combo!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The most authentically Mexican, home-cooked meal in a simple, traditional setting. $20 CAD fed four people. Definitely coming back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am so happy I read about this place in someone’s blog. I hope more people find this off the regular busy tourist path! I got the pozole combo and a Jamaica water. My partner got the mole enchiladas and an horchata. I will go back again and again. It was absolutely delicious, inexpensive, and felt like a family home. You must try this place!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great lunch spot. I walked an hour round trip in the rain to get lunch here, and it was worth it.
Get the combo pozole and enjoy. It's a slow cooked pork soup with homeney, and you get a plate of toppings and tostadas. It also comes with two tacos. I got the home made tamarind drink. All was delicious.
The prices can't be beat, the ladies cooking in the back were polite and like a family run joint.
