We loved this tour with Margarita and Martin, our guide and boat driver. They spotted many dolphins and even a sei whale! Highly recommend this activity if you are in the area. I plan to return to see the whales in the winter.

We booked a private boat tour to Yelapa for our family. The trip was amazing and the high point of our vacation. Snorkeling was excellent. Many opportunities to see wildlife including many species of birds. We were also lucky enough to see dolphins and a whale. Our guide Margarita was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive to all in our family. We appreciate Ecotours focus on research and preservation. Thank you Ecotours Vallarta for a wonderful excursion and memories for our family.

Had the privilege of doing a bird watching tour with Michael to La Desembocada and Ameca River. The group was a small one of only 4 people, made up of a mix of bird watching experience. Michael did a great job keeping everyone engaged, ensuring the newer birders were not discouraged, but also trying hard to find (and succeed!) some lifers for the more experienced in the group. The trip started at 7am from the offices and we were whisked about in a comfortable air conditioned van. After a quick coffee stop and fairly short drive we reached a dry river bed just outside La Desembocada. The early morning meant temperatures were mild and we took a short but very productive amble up the river and around and back to the van. This walk yielded over 30 species. After a short drive further into the forest, we stopped again for an even shorter walk. Good planning on part of Michael ensured that we did this walk later as the sun was up and it was getting warmer, but we were mostly in the shade. Although the second walk was very short, it took longer as there was more activity in both the undergrowth and canopy. By the time were got back to the van we had upped the list for the day to well over 50. We then drove to the mangroves around the mouth of the Ameca river. Here we were out in the open looking at shorebirds and various herons and egrets. With the diversity of habitat we got over 80 species of bird by the end of the day, including some most of the common specials of the area. Michael had us back at the office around 4pm. Overall a great day out and well worth doing both for those who enjoy a day out in nature with some interest in birds and for those with a much deeper knowledge and expectations of all things avian. Michael was an excellent guide, knowing not only the birds, but so much more about the fauna and flora of this part of Mexico, and was gracious enough to share a little of his personal experiences with us. Highly recommended!

Our tour was scheduled to hidden beach the same day hurricane Pamela made land fall and caused the captain to turn back and cancel that days tour, but every effort was made to reschedule us the next day. Carlos and Fernando were out guides and were great to spend our day with. It was easy to see their love of the sea and the wild life in it. Carlos was great in explaining how to safely swim the entrance to hidden beach and was great to be our guide as we snorkeled the surrounding waters. I highly recommend Ecotours for a fun safe day on the sea.

Priceless tour of Hidden Beach & the Marietas Islands by EcoTours. Our guide, Michael, and our Captain, Rafael, were the BEST! I did a lot of research, contacted a few companies, and they had the best pricing, information, and quick replies that I fell 100% confident in my choice. I was not disappointed. Thank you for a once in a lifetime adventure. We will never forget you guys.

The best experience on my trip was with these people. Very professional and made the entire tour fun. We traveled to the island and got to swim into the island and dive around the island. Even saw whales and Dolphins! I forget the guides name but he was great! Shorter individual and I think he was a zoo keeper or biologist I forget. But he did a great job. One of our guys couldn't swim so he actually towed him onto the island with a rope while swimming too. He also towed him the entire time while we dived. At the end of the trip he didn't take a tip. He instead wanted us to tip the captain and deck hands. Would definitely go back with these guys.

We had a great time! We went out on Christmas Eve and it was one of the best whale watches I’ve ever been on—and I’ve been on a lot because I’m a marine biologist! Our guide Michael was great and I love that Ecotours includes a lot of education about the whales and the Bay as part of the tour. I also love that they contribute to local science organizations! I would definitely recommend them, our group has a great day full of many whales, dolphins, and sea birds.
