About El Anafre Rojo

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food is delicious, mostly from Puebla but the menu also includes other kind of Mexican food, very well prepare and in creative styles. The environment is very comfortable and sophisticated. And it is in a great location in the center of the city. Finally, it has very economic prices for what you receive. Expect a bill of no more than US$25 for two people with drinks (non-alcohol), appetizers, soup and main dishes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Considering what they serve, prices are so high!
I was expecting this to be an authentic Mexican restaurant. But it was not.
They were playing John Lennon and I ordered a Lebanese fried egg with pita bread to just make it a complete mess :D

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food was nice, but service was slow. We had pork with mole source and chicken tacos with a rich peanut source both very nice. Coffee and juice is included with each meal but they didn't say it was only the filter coffee untill the bill came.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This restaurant is part of the Hotel El Señorial (which is also a great option if you'd like to stay in the historic district of Puebla). We ate here 3 times and every time was a delightful experience, the chef here delivers a combination of deliciousness and beauty in his/her dishes. We just couldn't help coming back. The waiters and waitresses were also super friendly and attentive. All in all, if you are in the area, "El Anafre Rojo" will not disappoint, just drop by, no need for reservations (at least we didn't need any).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Molle is their specialty and the sauce is very nice! But the chicken isnt spiced at all, which doesn't make it tasty. They also put a wrong expensive dish on the bill and it took at least 30 minutes to put the right price on the bill..Not the best restaurant in Puebla...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We sat there for 15 minutes waiting for coffee. There were 6 restaurant staff huddled around the bar with at least 1 on her phone. Refills- ha. You had to catch their eye as they were all facing away. Terrible

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place is busy in the mornings, so a little bit of waiting about food, the place is cozy, the waitress are always looking after you. Just arrived early because the parking space is limited. I think a reservation would be the best option. Do not ask for the strawberry milkshake it tasted non natural. About every other dish is great. I hope to be again soon. We spent about $250 pesos per person or about 13 usd (plus the tip). If you are in Puebla do not hesitate and have a great breakfast there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The menu has an English version via QR code which is nice. They clearly mark vegetarian options although they seem to think ants are vegetables. The waiter said they make their mole sauces without vegetable stock and was able to offer us the three mole dish substituting chicken for cheese. That dish and the vegetarian lasagna” were delicious. I had a chicken dish that was ok. The service was not great. The waiter brought us the wrong salad - it had salmon in it - and forgot the water we ordered. .
