About El Bajío Polanco

Wonderful space with high ceilings, Mexican inspired art and good lighting. The for was flavorable and not too spicy. I enjoyed the day's specials, squash blossom soup and chile en nogada.

We came here looking for good tacos and good vegetarian food based on the reviews, but unfortunately we didn’t have that same experience. Seemed like a really nice spot when we sat down though, and it was really cute! As soon as we sat down, before we even looked at the menu, we practically had hot chocolate thrust on us and weren’t sure whether it was complimentary or we were paying for it (we were paying for it). Also got a coffee here while we looked over the menu, but when I asked about vegetarian options and specifically tacos, they said all they could make me was a cheese enchilada - not even on the menu. Pretty disappointing and we went ahead and paid after that and wanted to leave, but it took forever to get our change so we could go find another lunch spot - ended up having to ask for it again from a different server. I’m sure this place has a lot of good food, but it’s just not necessarily the place for vegetarians or tacos like we were hoping based on other reviews.

Food was delicious, the octopus tostadas and the tortilla soup were both great, and you can ask if you want things spicy or not. I also had flan but it was too good i forgot to take a pic

Honestly, not the best and you can find better Local Mexican food at the local taco stands. Also, this place is over priced. Not worth it

Went to El Bajio in Polanco last night and honestly couldn’t recommend it more. The food quality, quantity and the kindness of the staff as well as the decor was simply outstanding. Very worth it in terms of money as well, I will definitely go back. Thank you so much for that lovely experience :)

We hosted a post-wedding brunch at El Bajio en Polanco for about 70 people. Jose Luis Berrera, the manager, was communicative and incredible at executing this event. We had a phenomenal brunch with amazing bread baskets, main course options, cocktails and excellent service. The setting of the restaurant was perfect too because it felt like an authentic Mexican style dining experience. All of our guests were blown away by their experience at El Bajio. I’m extremely grateful for their professionalism, fantastic food and superior service!

A typical Mexican restaurant, with big variety of choice. Beautiful and big space, very cosy. thing to remember…ask if you want something not spicy! Only bad thing to say, the waiter took the tip from my card, without asking me.
