★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The staff is very disorganized. We had to ask for the food so many times. The food quality and flavour is really good. Very tasty. Portions are bit small for mexico. Overall would recommend but have patience for slow staff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve been trying all the food/taco spots in Roma/La Condesa, so came here late last night to try their famous Costra—which is pretty much their flour taco with a roll of your choice of meat rolled in grilled cheese—tried the bistec and al pastor. Pretty good, but not great especially for the price. Obviously what you’re really paying for is all the overhead cost. You can get much tastier food elsewhere, but someone has to help pay the rent because the place is pretty huge, dozens of tables (indoors and outdoors) + open late and overly staffed. Best thing about the place is really just their strategic and advantageous location (near many great bars).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Different. A whole piece of meat for your tacos. But quite good

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great taco place with the usual Califa taste and quality. My personal favorites are the costras, pastores and the taco campechano. Don't forget to ask for the 'special sauce'.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A taco that unexpectedly blows you away
[Food] I ordered the Chuleta con queso. It doesn't look appealing, but after one bite it was a party of meat with the most delicious cheese in my mouth. It was served with a bunch of sauces, and guacamole. Which was also a delight to eat.
[Drinks] Wine and beer were also in the order. I found the drinks to be a bit overpriced considering the quality.
[Service] The service was okay, she was nice but she came by the table too often.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have been at El Califa Roma for dinner. The food was okay, but not really special or delicious. And it was expensive as well. We don't really recommend this place for food. For drinks it's okay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They have several vegan options and appetizers that you can order to create a pretty fun meal. I got the soy pastor and Milanese and gaona tacos and the nopales salad. The gaona was my favorite. Pastor was kind of cold :(

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rocked up late night to El Califa and it hit the spot! The arrachera quesadilla was really good, as was the thinly cut beef with charred queso. Pretty awesome to have access to menu like theirs at 2am. Service was quick and accommodating. Prices are def on the higher end for taquerias.
