This was our 3rd trip to this all inclusive El Cid resort, everything was perfect. The resort has been expanded since our last visit 3 years ago. New sister resort, El Cid Ventus, is adjacent to original part and guests are free to use amenities in both parts. Ventus is sleek and modern in design, compared to classic Spanish architecture of original part. Expanded resort includes new restaurants, pools, entertainment venues. Hotel staff, waiters, marina captains and crew are friendly, professional, and dedicated to making your vacation a wonderful experience.

We have been to this location many times. The time that was the best was the first time there back in 2015. I got married there and it was a small but perfect wedding. The wedding package was amazing and so were the prices. Everything about this place is beautiful and very friendly. The weather was perfect as well. We got married in October and otherwise we have gone in the month of November. The photographer was amazing as well and very kind and funny. If you need a good photographer you should ask for Alejandro!

Overall a nice place, clean, freindly staff etc BUT not seeing much in terms of promoting sustainability or animal welfare there. SO much more they could be doing especially given the large scale envonmental damage that the majority of cleints will be creating to get here via plane.

I stayed at El Cid for one week and couldn't recommend it more. The resort itself is beautiful and connected to Ventus and Ventus Ha so you can hop around the different resorts and enjoy all their amenities. The food was delicious and the restaurants available to us were amazing as well. There was an Italian restaurant that was amazing, a French restaurant that was delicious, a Japanese restaurant that was entertaining, a Seafood Restaurant, a Mexican steak house, and a Mediterranean restaurant. The staff at the resort were kind and very accommodating. The DJ never showed up for any of the posted DJ nights, so that was disappointing. The vibe was definitely for retirees rather than young people but I still enjoyed myself. The bike tour was fun. Many days we went out to try and do the included activities: paddle boarding/kayaking/catamaran but the weather wasn't good for those activities in January. Another thing that was crazy expensive was that they charge $50 USD for wifi for the week which is astronomical. Instead I would recommend going to the Oxxo and getting a TelCel phone plan for $200-$300 pesos that gives you unlimited social media for 21 days. I would also skip out on the snorkelling tours they offer you and instead try to find a better deal when you're out on the bike tour. Also if you are a coffee addict like me, the coffee in El Cid's lobby is the best (from the bar). The buffet coffee is meh.

This was my second time to stay at this resort. Last year I stayed on the ventus side and this time I stayed on the Marina side. The service on both sides we're equal as far as friendliness speed and efficiency. The staff really tries to please and meet your requests. The main lobby's are very nice check-in process is fairly quick relatively easy to upgrade rooms if available. There are 3 family pools one of which includes a swim up bar a slide, rock jump, a net area for water sports and a slide for the smaller kids as well. There's a family Infinity pool that's beautiful less busy distractions and appears to touch the ocean there is an outdoor seating seating area to enjoy with out door pub tables where they will serve drinks I like the poolside oceanfront bar-vibe this area offered then just a bit further and u come to the 18and over Infinity pool hot tub and outdoor bar area it's nice to be able to have that kid free zone and just past that u find the last of the family pools it's my favorite it's large has a real crisp clean feel as it is surrounded by white buildings it has 2 foot bridges and waterfalls incorporated in the filtration system. They also offer a family jacuzzi. There is resort beach access although it's pretty narrow they added the family jacuzzi area and deck and that cost a lot of the beach which I found sad. They offer a teen center as well as a kids club for 4and over. Overall pretty happy with room and family activities. They did have after dinner nightly entertainment shows as well. Now let's talk about food everything is relatively good quality if u want a sit down and be served dining experience ur probably not going to be very happy with the 3 dinner restaurants that require reservations but they're next to impossible it make. I stayed 7 nights and wasn't able to get a single reservation for dinner with that said it felt very cafeteria style and was very overwhelming at times. Like I said food was good but I got really tired of eating at Delores cafeteria. Breakfast was same style although in 2 different locations in the 2main lobby's room service is offered but it is very limited and not that great. My sister and I did purchase 2services at the spa and received a 3rd service complamentry both of us really enjoyed the spa and both of us really were satisfied with the massages we received really A+ massage we liked the services but we LOVED our table massages. So pros Lots of pools Very family friendly Spa service Very clean Affordable gift shop Cons The dining was very cafeteria vibe Very limited beach area Room service very limited options Although seaweed was very much present in large quantities they really did their best to groom the beach for us.....they can't really control mother nature I would return with family again
