They think that they own the beaches, but they are not. They are very rude asking people at the front of the beach to leave. In Mexico the beaches aren't private, so anybody can stay wherever they want. Beaches are for free.

Well located. Good service. The Progreso brach is ideal for kids as it is not too rough and has a low level depth. Also local next to the Malecón of the town, so easy to walk and visit the shops. The food is good, a tad expensive but worth it. I recommend that you book before you go. At times they have live bands.

I came here because of all the hype about the palapas or whatever the tapas are called. So you order a beer or what ever alcoholic berage you want and they brought us 6 servings, we ordered our food and another beer, they brought us another 5 tapas plates. They passed the test!!! All the hype is real!! Great server, a happy gentleman eager to explain each dish. Our order was also very good. Great local. I will be back.

The beach is beautiful with cute little couches with shade to relax in. The food was delicious. My only issue was when you went close to the building/bathroom it had a very strong urine smell.

My favorite spot for beach club in Progreso. Solid food and service. But also nice to have it be pet friendly and some semi privacy with the plants bordering the different tables.

We ended up coming here 6 times during our 2 month stay in Yucatan. We loved it. Great beach atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks. My only complaints are that I found the food to be on the pricier side for Progreso, and you have to watch out for a rock barrier on the ground of the ocean about 25 metres out from the shoreline. It should be removed or marked better to avoid accidents.

Loved our time at El HaGuay. Rented a cabana and ordered food and drinks. The day we went was very windy but still an enjoyable time. The only downside was the wasps or bees searching for food. Not tons of them but enough to make me worry. But that wasn't their fault. Just beware if you are allergic to those sorts of things. They have a pool you can use and table areas too but we stayed in the cabana.

Not a bad place if you will louge all day at the sunbeds, but if you just come to eat it is not worth it as they charge 100 pesos "resort" fee. The server was super friendly and the food was OK, nothing to rave about.
