It was a disappointment, I was looking forward to eating great tacos. But the pastor didn't have much flavor, campechano was dry, and my wifes campechano was 99% chorizo.

Through it all, every taco, every churro, every full glass of horchata, you need to make it to this place. I truly understand the struggle, but trust me. My celiac fiancée raved about the pastor (gluten-free and pictured), and I had a mind-boggling Cubana torta (yes, like the Cuban sandwich). 5 ándales ??

Amazing tacos, full of flavor and unmatched atmosphere. Featured in the Taco chronicles for the Al Pastor taco but don't stop there explore the menu and taste as much as you can try. I recomend the Volcan Charro. Try it it is delicious.

Tasty, and a neat stop if you're looking for good al pastor. Have heard it gets very, very busy later at night but earlier it's buzzing but not terribly packed. Bonus pineapple skills.

Stop what you are doing right now. I swear to god fly here. Do whatever you can to get here. This is the best Al pastor of my life. I thought I knew good Al pastor. I was wrong. Order “Gringa” . It’s a bit large. So I ordered two of those and then the regular Al pastor. My god . The Al pastor is so thinly sliced. It’s somehow both juicy and crispy. The pineapple is the best I’ve ever had for some reason on it. The tortillas are so perfectly crispy. This, as of this moment is the best taco I’ve ever had in my life

This place does actually make pretty good tacos al pastor. It ain’t sliced ‘til it’s got some charred bits (that adds flavor!) — but the Campechanos—hard pass, they were pretty gross, unless you like paying 80 pesos for gummy, chewy, fatty bits mixed, so that when you bite into it you end up wishing you had gone to a vegan restaurant as you originally intended, but nooo you had to come here. ? The tortas are also a let down because if they were proud of their al pastor, they would not slap it between mediocre bread. The torta bread was a pillowy, industrial Bimbo-like-produced nightmare. They have such great al pastor, it’s a shame that they don’t pair it up with other equally-great food products. This place could truly be serving CDMX’s best torta al pastor if only they used good bread—something with a good crust, a torta loaf sliced in half, and extra points if they grill/toast it all. But it was just sorry looking, soft, white bread. Nothing special—it truly is an economical, profit driven choice I guess, but wow does no one have taste buds? Does everyone really just want to eat to feel full? My suggestion: Just stick with al pastor tacos or maybe try the volcán—note: each order comes with 2 volcanes (they are basically meat and cheese grilled over a tostada)!! Overall a good place to stop if you’re in the neighborhood and craving al pastor—but I would not go out of my way to try this place. Not a “must try” place, but it is a kitschy fun scene with it being operated next to/out of a mechanic garage. And scenes like these are just great with friends—but let’s not forget that it’s the good company of friends that can make even a 1-star meal one of the best. Overall, the best al pastor in CDMX today is still Rifados (small nondescript place serving deliciousness in Condesa).

Can't say enough about this place. Of all the al pastor tacos I had in CDMX, this place was hands down my favorite! During the day, this place is an auto mechanic shop, and by night it becomes a taqueria. The staff here literally are some of the hardest working restaurant staff that I have ever seen! It's hectic here but they still are able to serve you relatively quickly! Be nice and tip well! It'll be much deserved

Some of the best Al pastor in the city. My friends have lived in Mexico City for a few years and we did an Al pastor tasting. “Mechanics” as we like to call it is just the best. The pastor is perfect the salads are great and the atmosphere puts it over the top. Truly exceptional spot that offers tacos late night. A must visit spot
