We have been in Merida for about 5 weeks so we thought we knew how not to get caught up in a scam like this. We were told 2700mxn to take us from Merida to Uxmal for a day tour 8-6pm. We asked not to go to the Chocolate Factory as we have seen in many times on YouTube and instead we wanted to go to a cenote particularly, X-Batun. No problem, no problem. Well the first problem was that David, I think he is the owner, was to be our English speaking guide. We were given a very nice man but his English was very poor. It made communicating with him a little difficult. That is why I went with this company, they spoke English. We drove 1hour down to Uxmal, toured Uxmal for an hour only (the cost to get in for 1 person is 500mxn. I asked our guide if we were in a hurry, we were going so fast. I felt rushed the entire time. We then got back into the car and went to the Chocolate Factory. We stayed an entire hour at the Chocolate Factory (another 200mxn). I would have spent 1 more hour in Uxmal taking the pictures I wanted. We got back into the car and drove for awhile where we took a turn into Cenote Peba. This is just a whole in the ground. Look at the difference on Google and you will see why we wanted to go to Cenote X-Batun, It is beautiful there. Then we left to go back home. On the way home they spoke to someone on the phone about making another tour today. We tipped our drivers because it wasn't their fault it was David's fault. We were in our home by 1:30p. This company is not trustworthy and I would never ever recommend them to anyone.
