Great online price turned into a MUCH (4X) more expensive trip when they refused to honor the CDW waiver letter from my credit card bank (a huge global entity) that I secured in Spanish before our arrival. Felt like a total scam, but I had to buy their cheapest insurance. The car was pretty beat up, but that is probably more safe in Mexico anyway. I will not be booking future rentals with Europcar.

Purchased a rental car through expedia for $10US per day which I thought was a deal and too good to be true. Well, it was! When I went to pick up the car from the airport the Eurocar rental company wanted to charge over $550 US dollars for "basic" insurance in addition to the $120 for the car. They would not decline the insurance events though my credit card included rental car insurance as most companies simply offer it and I was forced to cancel my reservation and take a cab downtown. Beware of this scam!

The folks in office are nice but Europa Rental Car Corporate Customer Service and phone support is awful + didn't speak fluent english. I spent 40 minutes on the phone for something that should have taken 5 minutes and they charged me an extra $100 for something that should have been $15. Increase revenue by wearing customers down unfortunately seems to be becoming a more common business tactic....

The car's condition was pretty shaky, to say the least. You could see that it had been in a major crash and just got some quick and dirty fixes, you could feel/hear that it was about to break down sometimes. Besides, it was obvious that the fuel measurement device was totally messed with, so that after they conveniently (for them) give it to you with a 3/4 tank, you end up giving it back with an almost full tank. If you're renting for a couple of weeks, this "loss" is obviously not a big deal, unfortunately I was renting it for 1 day on a budget and ended up paying 800 pesos for rental (without insurances) and 300 for gas just to drive 50 Km. Again... it's not a huge deal, but it's obviously a scam just to get a few extra bucks out of you.

Used the rental car to visit Hierve el Agua by ourselves, everything fine with the car and price was cheapest we could find

After the idiots at Hertz said they did not have the 6 passenger van I had reserved months ago I had to scramble to find a suitable vehicle. Well..Europcar was able to come through for us. A nice Toyota Sienna Hybrid. The price was high but II was not nickel and dimed with all sorts of fees/taxes/insurance (though they did hold a hetfy deposit on my credit card). I would rent with them again. AVOID HERTZ at all costs. They are LIARS!

Very bad service!! First of all we made a reservation for a certain price. The day that we picked up the car, the price became much more while they send an email the day before that we will get it for the price they promised us. When we brought the car back they said there was damage underneath the car which wasn’t there before. Although they couldn’t proof this. We didn’t get our down payment back. We made a video of the car and they made pictures of the car before handing it over to us and still with no proof we had to pay about 170 euros extra for the damage!

We rented a car for two weeks while our car was being repaired. Yes, you have to pay for their insurance even if you have your own. We contacted the office a few days before our car needed to be returned to extend the rental for another week and we told to show up when the original contract expired to make the payment for the additional week. When we showed up a different salesperson told us that they did not show the extension in their reservation system and that our car was already rented to someone else. No interest in resolving the situation, contacting the other sales person, or assisting us. Just hand over the keys and get your things out. He even admitted that they were already overbooked by about four cars! My point was simply we already had possession and had already confirmed that we wanted the car for another week. If they were already overbooked why wouldn't they honor a current customer and a longer rental period? Ridiculous system that is clearly broken, and leaves you feeling helpless when you were depending on the car. I notice that they only respond to the five star reviews and none of the problems or complaints that people seem to frequently have. We live here and will be sure to never recommend Europcar over Alamo - always will be with Alamo for anyone visiting or asking!
