I am an American citizen, married to a Mexican National and we have a five year old child. I am also remiss in not writing this much sooner than now. I am writing to compliment the services of the Federal Police in Mazatlan. On New Year's Day my wife, our child, my sister in law and nephew in law were together driving to our second home in San Blas from Culiacan. It was a day when there was virtually no traffic on the road (Quota) and all businesses were closed for the holiday. We had driven through Mazatlan and were about 20 minutes south of Esquinapa when we had a terrible blow out of our rear tire. I pulled off the road as far as I could but was barely still in the traffic lane. I was driving a Ford F-150 truck so I went to the underside of the rear of our truck to retrieve the spare tire when to our horror we saw that someone, sometime in the past had stolen our spare tire. It was a rainy day and the day was ending as sunset was approaching and it was also dark from being rainy. Needless to say we were starting to panic when out of the blue, two Federal Police cars arrived. They could see we were in trouble. Unfortunately we never wrote down the officer's names but they were our angels from heaven. We took some pictures and have noticed that their vehicle numbers were 13597 and 16532. They climbed under the truck to assess the situation and then used their own jack to lift the truck and then they removed the damaged tire. One officer took my wife and the tire and drove 20 minutes to Esquinapa and had to go to three different tire stores to find one that would repair our tire. The other officer stayed with us and directed traffic around us for ours and other drivers safety. After about an hour, when it was almost dark outside the other officer and my wife returned with the repaired tire. The officers worked together to replace the tire and finally sent us on our way. To this day i am forever grateful for the professionalism and courtesy of the two officers from Mazatlan that saved us from certain tragedy. We also thank God for their presence and will forever think of them as ANGELS in blue. Thank you so much for those two fabulous officers. They were truly a Godsend and I only wish I knew their names.
