Fernando jr's Lobster House (The Original Lobster House since 1983) - 77600 San Miguel de Cozumel

The lobster was superb. We split an 800 gram lobster. Fue deliciosisima!

Such a great experience! Fernando jr chatted with us while Jimmy was our waiter. Both were great, but the food- oh my, the food! Make sure you go to the Original Fernando jr's Lobster House. You can choose from different appetizers, if you want to get one, which we did (bacon wrapped grilled shrimp, AMAZING). We then shared a dinner. There is only one option for a main course. But it's SO worth it! Melt-in-your-mouth Lobster cooked perfectly! Sharing the dinner left us room for dessert- key lime pie that Fernando's sister makes fresh daily. My BF isn't typically a big fan of key lime and he thought it was the bomb! Lastly you absolutely can't beat the ambiance of this place.

Average lobster and non existent service. The lobster was ok, a bit dry.One waiter serving 10 tables. Took about 2 hours to get food we ordered, 20 mins eating, and another 40 minutes to get check. Total waste of time and money. Seriously, we ate at quite a few places in Mexico and this is a 100% tourist trap.avoid

Really good daily caught fresh lobster! The menu is only lobster, but you can order from the grill next to it, and sit there. Amazing zen ambiance. Price is a little high in my opinion for a locally catched lobster, but I will definitely go again.

Surf and turf is expensive for what you get. Bad piece of steak, if you don’t know steak, you should be fine, otherwise just yuck! Not great service at all. Even the pasta was bad, and how hard is it to mess up pasta. We’ll try next door next time which has it for half the price and hope for better quality. Only reason it’s a 2 star and not a 1 is it’s a great atmosphere, wish they put some care into their food as well. Many other options on the island!

No doubt the best atmosphere on the island. The food was awesome. I would definitely suggest having dinner at Fernando’s Lobster House. You will not be disappointed!

Only two stars instead of one because the atmosphere is nice. My mom, me, and my wife came and they ordered pasta and I ordered surf N turf. The Alfredo was super thick and overall it was okay but definitely overpriced. The lobster from my surf N turf was good but the steak was terrible. I ordered it medium rare and it came well done, I had it remade and it came back extremely rare. Also even if the steak had been cooked correctly it was just a bad piece of meat. The service was quite slow and they didn't seem to care about our experience and nor did they ask us how things were. We had to flag someone down to get a check, nobody checked in with us after we got our food. It was over $100 for 3 people with poor service and really average food. Would suggest going to a different place if you want anything other than lobster, and even so it is overpriced.

The lobster here is delicious! You pick your own fresh lobster tail to be cooked. The lobster comes with rice and vegetables that are seasoned well and taste delicious. The restaurant is pricey, but we were able to pay with a credit card. And we all agreed the lobster was worth the high price because it is fresh and cooked to perfection. The key lime pie, bacon wrapped shrimp, and grilled shrimp with garlic butter are also very delicious. The staff was very friendly and spoke English. We highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you get a chance. The ambience is very relaxed and the decor is unique and cool.
