Ray Careme

Ray Carême, who specializes in private property rentals, real estate sales at Puerto Vallarta Villas and helping people plan their next travel adventure at Holland Travel, is a native of France.
He hails from the champagne capital of the world – Epernay. Ray’s education and experience – in hotel and restaurant management and ownership – is just a small part of his working for more than 26 years world-wide.

Most notable is Ray’s work with Gerard Boyer of “Chateaux les Crayères” in Reims, France. Conde Nast Traveler, Travel & Leisure, and Zagat Survey magazines awarded Boyer with the “Best Small Hotel and Restaurant in the World” award in 1987.

His time in the restaurant industry included working on a cruise ship (for 7 years) as Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, and then Maitre’d with Royal Caribbean International. Ray was also General Manager for “Celebrity Chef” Joachim Splichal of the Patina Pinot Group for 8 years, serving the Hollywood Elite in California. He was also General Manager for John Hurley with Garibaldi’s restaurants in San Francisco and a partner in “G’ Bar in Presidio Heights. Ray then worked in Corsica and England where he volunteered as a French tutor at an English public school for underprivileged children in his free time.

Ray initially joined Holland Travel as a Partner to offer his shipboard experience and expertise combined with his great love of food and wines to customers wishing to book luxury travel experiences with a focus on fine dining. With his extensive travel background – Ray has traveled to 55 countries in the world and 36 states in the United States – he continues to promote travel for Holland Travel (affiliated with Virtuoso Travel and Montrose Travel) and to host cruises for Virtuoso Voyages. His next “hosted” tour with his partner Michael Holland, is to Antarctica (cruise was cancelled), then the Norwegian Fjords to North Cape for Copenhagen, July 2022. Ray was part of a television feature with the NBC Today in 2005 as Puerto Vallarta Villas and Holland Travel embraced using a virtual assistant based in Colorado that they had never met.
