The worst experience. Having a reservation doesn't guarantee a car and they've left us without one in peak season. Seeing past reviews and the same thing happened to us in 2019 where we had a reservation for 2 months and show up in the airport ready to receive the car and they had none available. Guy at the front guaranteed us a car within the next 24 hours and nothing came in. The 1800 number told us they didn't have any cars available and that we can submit a claim to their website but no solution in place. Way to ruin the holiday season

First, the place is old and looks deteriorate. We got there two weeks ago and they only allow one person to go inside their office . I was waiting outside and they don't even bother to provide chairs and shade. Merida is a hot place please be more humans. I was seating on the floor because i was so tired after flying too long, When we return the car another drama. Not enough personal only two guys trying to do rental and returns. it was super busy until I spoke with someone and told them to please help me all I want to do is return the car and be on time for my flight. Finally, they realize that I was about to miss my flight and they help me. This place needs to be remodel , have place to sit clients , air conditioners , get more personal and definitively improve customer services.

I had a car confirmation set weeks ago and when I got there they didn’t have any vehicles. I showed my confirmation and they told me they “might” get something in the next day. They could not even give me a solid yes or no. I always have problems with Hertz. Go with another company, even if you have to pay a bit more.

We rented a car here and have never had such a terrible experience. 1. The costs tripled compared with the originally given amount due to a basic car insurance. About 500 euros for a small car per week??? Sadly, we had to accept it as we were on a tight schedule. 2. The car was handed over to us incredibly dirty. When confronting the employee he told us "ah just return it dirty". 3. The car was not maintained and had severe technical issues with what I think must have been a wheel bearing after one day of little use. 4. We waited about 15 hours for a replacement vehicle and lost reservations due to their not functioning Hotline and lack of replacement vehicles. 5. To return the car at the end of our renting period we waited an outrageous amount of time (close to 2 hours). We almost missed our flights due to their inability to perform the most basic of services! 6. 3 days later they still haven't returned our deposite despite confirming there were no flaws because they needed to check the broken car we had returned 5 days earlier. This firm has caused nothing but trouble to us. It's more than angering! I STRONGLY advise against hiring their services!

The worst service ever. They kept you waiting a lot for picking up the vehicle that you reserved and then when you returned the vehicle which had problems, they didn’t commit to the time with the inspection results. Then there’s no office phone you can call, the only thing you can do is just wait. And they didn’t inform or explain you anything before they charged you the repair cost. And again the only thing you can do is call to the number of their customer service center which is located in Mexico City and they never answered. Only the staff from reservation dept. answered my calls and then they told me that they couldn’t help, so I had to write my complaints in their website, but the answers are very slow. It’s absolutely not recommend for tourists or people who don’t speak Spanish to rent cars here.

Worst experience ever! Don't even think about this location. I don't even think they deserve a star. It's not an isolated situation mine, you can tell everyone is frustrated. This is a poor top management problem. Skip it for sure at Avis you will find better deals and a decent service.

Maybe hertz is bad everywhere in Mexico ??? Definitely bad in Mexico City and this branch. They charge ludicrous prices for insurance and the rental prices are far from competitive. Don’t go there!

Over charged the American, or tired to..... Demanded 3x the price of the rental for insurance or a huge deposit. It's a scam, tell them your walking out and the price will magically come down to reasonable.
