★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely terrible! Do not use this place to rent your car in Guadalajara. They assigned us a vehicle that wasn’t even on the lot and we had to wait an hour for them to fix the issue. They were not helpful and were clueless. Save your time and go somewhere else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They are scammers here. Force you to pay for things when you don't need to. Mandatory insurance. Read the fine print carefully.
I requested an SUV they gave me a cross over tiny car, no other cars available.
Check out process takes 10 minutes so be sure to account for that in your travel time.
It's also located in a strange spot.
I booked using aeromexico to save money and it ballooned to more than any other rental place upon check in.
Avoid this Hertz at all costs

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I did a reservation for 395 with insurance through AAA. The people lied to me wanted to sell me a car for 1400 for 6 days Plus a 3000 deposit. I said no then said I can do 1150 and 1500 deposit . I said no then we wasted 2 plus hours paid 777 for car and 650 deposit. Still about 260 bucks scammed. They should be sue for fraud. I told him why are you charging me more for the car than in the USA!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Let me tell you a little bit about a true story about my experience renting with Hertz and that is the only reason I’m giving them 4-star rating. I had a 9 day prepaid reservation. When I came up to the counter to pick up the vehicle, the agent tells me I only had 7-day special reservation and I had to pay for 2 more days yet.
This is where it gets ugly. The total for the two days was nearly the same amount as the 7-day total. I started to go back-and-forth the agent and educated manner trying to justify my reservation and making her understand how unfair their business practice was. Eventually, she calls the manager over and I went back-and-forth with him as well. Luckily, he gave in and agreed to honored the reservation for the 9 days and the prepaid amount. But I was lucky, this could’ve ended differently and forcing
me to find a another vehicle at the last minute or taking public transit. Heads up at one everyone, be aware!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Make sure you have an online reservation BEFORE you come here (check aero Mexico as they have great hertz discounts). If you come here the counter will quote you 4x the actual amount and say things that are completely untrue such as “it’s same price with or without insurance” or “you must purchase insurance” “we only have 2 cars left”. You can avoid all this by having an online reservation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Didn't honor the price that was agreed online for an SUV, they wanted double like 7K. Ended up renting a minivan for roughly 3K for 16 days. The van was okay we had 7 passengers so we couldn't settle for anything smaller. I didn't purchase the extra insurance even though the attendant insinuated I should ($600 additional, without it it wouldn't cover total loss, rims or windows) luckily everything went okay. Returning the vehicle was pretty easy, BEWARE You are also responsible for returning the vehicle washed and vacuumed, I have never had to do this using a rental company in the US. Be sure to take photos of exterior and interior, any flaws or stains. Call center was very helpful and pleasant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Horrible selection of cars. Had to switch my car rental 3 times. First time due to acceleration and tire safety. Second car they down graded me. Third car small AF, by this time I just wanted to get out. Spend the whole day switching cars around. They should show you before hand the car so there's no discretion or mix ups. 2 stars because manager was patient.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hertz was the most reasonable priced car rental. There's a shuttle that takes you to the location to pick up your car. We rented a car Friday morning and the airport was not too busy. The issues I had with hertz is the process to check in and out is HORRIBLE. They have signs saying because of Covid expect delays yet the workers were talking to one another laughing. It took us almost an hour to pick up the car when there were only like 4 people with us there. The car itself was good and we had no issues with it.
