HM Playa del carmen - 77720 Playa del Carmen

This is an amazing gem in the heart of Playa! First off the staff were amazing especially the breakfast crew. Every morning warm smiles and of course delicous food. The pool bar staff equally warm, accommodating and lovely. We had a room with no view and it was still enjoyable right by the pool so super quiet and easy access. The bathroom shower had great water pressure and Wifii available in the room and by the pool bar, I had to work for a day and no problems what so ever. Always fresh towels available for the pool and the beds were comfy, you do sometimes need to hustle after breakfast to grab a bed but something always works out with people coming and going. Check out all the amazing cute places on 10th to eat and just a 10 min walk to the beach. The hotel was super clean, colourful and most importantly welcoming. I can not speak highly enough!

Absolutely loved this hotel! The staff was excellent and extremely helpful (in English and Spanish). The front desk was happy to help with recommendations, the bar staff provided excellent service and made great drinks, and Cesar arranged some excellent tours for us (at a discount to prices online). The hotel and rooms are minimalist modern with lovely wooden touches. There is AC and the bathrooms were very nice (with shampoo, soap and conditioner). The hotel also has a decent gym and nice pool. There's lots of space to enjoy, including swings. The pool is nice and has a shallower side. There are towels available and there are drinks/food available, both of which are good quality and fair prices. The happy hour is an excellent deal! Breakfast was nice. Yogurt, fruit, cereal, bread/pastry assortment, pancakes, cheese, meat, some hot dishes (changes) and eggs. Location wise, you are two minutes walk from Quinta Avenida (5th Ave. Main walking Street). About 5 to 7 minutes from the beach although it's a bit further to a more open beach either west or east. There's an oxxo across the street and lots of great restaurants within a 5 or 10 minute walk. There's parking on site here as well. You're not getting beach views but the interior pool/garden is lovely and the location is awesome otherwise. Really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to everyone.

Great place to stay. Very clean, super friendly staff, bar and quick bites in the hotel and a nice pool to relax. Free wifi in the room and at the pool. Centrally located around main street and restaurants.

The good: - Nice location. Short walk to Mamita's Beach and right by 5th Avenue, but far enough off that it's quiet at night. - Good breakfast with a nice mix of American and Mexican options. - Lovely pool with a great mix of seating and lounging options, with a solid bar too. - Room was spacious and cute. Firm but comfortable bed, good bathroom and shower with hot water, and also a nice cool temperature that felt great to walk into after hot days outside. - Staff was really nice. - Very reasonably priced. The bad: - The wifi was awful. It was fine in the lobby and pool area, but barely worked in my room. I needed a good connection for Zoom meetings so that was really annoying. - The AC unit was very loud and woke me up several times a night. You may want to bring earplugs. Also, before your trip I would check the anticipated sargassum levels in PCD online! The seaweed was awful when I was there (April 2022)-- the beaches were piled feet high with it, and the rotten smell permeated the whole town. I ended up taking day trips to beaches elsewhere in the region to get away from it, and even though I liked this hotel a lot, I wish I'd stayed in another town.

Good location and good value for about $50-65 usd. The rooms and clean and a bit basic. The pool is very nice, good free parking. The breakfast is better than most hotels that include or offer breakfast. The Avenue it is on is central and good for exploring lower and upper 5th Avenue.

Its great location, big pool area and clean rooms make HM a good choice to set up camp in Playa del Carmen. On the flipside, be prepared for less than perfect soundproofing (at some point you’ll begin to wonder if your neighbours are actually inside your room) and intermittent blasts from your room’s AC. On that last point I’ll concede that the issue is quickly resolved by just turning it off and switching to the fan. As a final point - despite being, well, an adult - I must say I was impressed by the variety of “towel animals” housekeeping was able to put on our beds. I mean - we’ve all seen swans but elephants and wacky-waving-inflatable-arm-flailing-tube-men were at least new to me ?

Make sure to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ when booking a room. This website will compare countless booking websites and usually will have rates a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This hotel is the best rated in this area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you choose this place you definitely won't regret it. The breakfast was very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room and pool were very clean. The room was close to the front of the hotel but yet it was very quiet at night, you don't hear the traffic at all. The location is excellent, very central and only 2 blocks from 5th ave. We were very comfortable all around and I feel this hotel is very much worth the price we paid. Only 2 negatives points: The air conditioner was VERY VERY LOUD and would wake us up when it kicked in. Fortunately it was cool enough at night that we were able to turn it off while sleeping and only use the ceiling fan which enough for us. There is no dresser or other furniture to be able to put away some clothes. There is a closet to hang things up but no dresser. We had no choice but to keep most things in our suitcases.
