About HOSTAL CASA HUASTECA

57 minutes (41 mi) from Ciudad Valles, this small complex is only 2 kilometers from the center of the city of Tamasopo, and with the entrance you will have access to 4 large waterfalls and several areas where you can swim.

As in the all Huasteca’s rivers, the water is completely crystalline. In these natural pools you will find many fish in the water, so we recommend you bring goggles or your snorkeling equipment to see them more closely.

For the little ones there is also a rope system from where you can jump into the water next to one of the waterfalls.

The entire park is easy to navigate, with trails and hanging bridges. There are also many places to sit, as well as some bars and restaurants where you can eat.

The hostel itself is fine... I just don’t like the vibe when you have to pay extra for everything including refilling your water bottle and there is rules for everything, and they will NOT give you an extra blanket if you are cold...

A nice place to stay, the owners are kinds and patient! They were willing to try there best to understand my poor Spanish! They also took me to walk around the neighborhood! The room is very clean because staff clean the rooms everyday! They also provide lockers for personal belongings!

It was a very pleasant stay. The staff here do not know any English and the hot water would run out very quickly if you showered in the evenings (which is why I'm giving this place 3 stars). Otherwise everything was clean, they had a private lot you can park your car for MXN$50 a day. If you want your laundry done they will ship it out and have it back to you the next day for around MXN$70. They also served breakfast which included coffee or tea (no black tea though), a banana, a slice of cantaloupe melon or papaya, a couple pieces of citrus fruit, and a small pastry. You can refill your waterbottle for MXN$5. Each person gets new sheets, a towel, an extra knit blanket, and their own locker in their rooms. I thought the accommodations were great but my roommate complained that the pillows were too flat and that the sheets were too starchy. I didn't mind either of those things because I only cared that they were clean and free from odors, which they were.

Stayed for two nights here. Overall it was great. We didn't have a reservation and just paid in cash. They have a garage you can park in across the street. They include a lot of amenities like towels, a locker for your things, and breakfast.

Breakfast staff takes her job way too seriously- breakfast is almost nothing as it is, and asking to trade one piece of fruit for another was a problem with her. Top bunk is not very comfortable, no railing around the head or side so things fall off (like your pillow in the middle of the night). Can’t stay “more than 15 minutes after checkout” which I just find weird plus it’s 50p to come back and use a cold shower after checkout. No restrictions on noise, people right outside partying until midnight on a weekday while others were trying to sleep. Reception staff were very nice, rooms and bathroom were all clean and good quality.

Amazing and welcoming hostel. The owners were super friendly and quick to help us with any requests or questions. They also offer a gated parking for those with vehicles for an extra low fee. Rooms were very clean. Lockers inside the rooms as well. We slept very comfy here. Owner also offered us the kitchen for cooking our food. The common area is very beautiful and cozy. I fully recommend it for any backpacker or traveler coming through town. Muchas gracias por todo :)

I watched it happen. You're right, it was closer to 10pm, which is still late. She definitely looked at least 60 though and your staff swore at her a lot. You should talk to them about it.
