Chill hostel close to ADO. Not the cheapest, but worth it for the convenience.

This is a great location to start your holidays in Oaxaca. The rooms are super clean and tidy with lovely decorations. The owner Javier is a great host and helps you out with a lot of sightseeing tips. And the breakfast is delicious and traditional Mexican.

I would give the hostle 2 stars if it wasnt for the woman at the reception. She took care of us as if we were family, making sure we were okay and giving us many advise. She is amazing. But the hostel itself needs love. Their is no power outlet in each bed (which is basic now I think) and no individual light, so only the big one in the dorm. Only the lower bunk beds have a curtain for privacy but the top ones are all left exposed. My boyfriend had the top one and when he went up the ladder, the ladder broke and he injured himself. And a couple other things too, like no seat on the toilet so you have to sqat over. Your hostel becomes your home when you are there and this really annoyed me. The shower was burning hot until no more hot water. And instant coffee, whyyy hahaha. Over all, you do feel the love in that place but hostel competition has no pity, and I think this one needs some updates.

My stay at Hostel Frida was really good. I came with the idea of staying for 2 nights, but ended up staying for 5 nights because I loved it so much. What really made the stay so special was two of the volunteers of the hostel; Aaron and Miguel. They took us to all the places around Oaxaca to show us around and were available to help us with everything. The last night we had a cocktail night, and Miguel made the best cocktails ever! BIG thank you to Aaron and Miguel. You make me want to come back.
