Love the spiritual energy and it's chill. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. I would say it's my second home! The are activities here everyday such as yoga and cocoa ceremony. It's in a great location, in the middle of the city. Easy to organize tours and trips. Highly recommend!!!!

La Isla is the warmest, friendliest, and most lovable hostel I’ve ever stayed at. So much to love - the free yoga and meditation classes, free breakfasts, big shared kitchen and lots of shared hangout areas (outdoor terraces and indoor living rooms). Perfect location just steps from the main walking street, but on a quiet side street. There are 2 adorable friendly cats. The staff makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. I’ve been staying here the last few weeks and have met so many amazing people. It’s not a party hostel but very social if you feel like it (and yet super chill if you’re craving downtime.) Plus they have perks you can’t find at other hostels - like cacao ceremonies, hypnotherapy sessions, yoga, movie nights, laundry service. A magical place to stay in the heart of San Cristobal!

Very friendly, accommodating staff (especially the current manager from Norway). A very social place, which is good for meeting travellers and new friends, but sometimes hard to find a quiet place to concentrate. Some dorm rooms are better than others (I recommend the dorm nearest the back of the building as it has a balcony with an open door, which is essential for fresh air at night). The hostel is currently smoking friendly, which is nice if you choose to smoke, but unfortunately sometimes cigarette smoke wafts into the rooms and is not pleasant. They offer yoga and spiritual lectures, and most of the guests seem to be interested in some degree of self-exploration. A great place to meet interesting and friendly souls. Also, there is a simple breakfast included.

La Isla's staff were super welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is one of much relaxing and socializing in the common rooms, more than most hostels I have stayed at. This makes it easy to meet people. Loved that! The dorm rooms are some of the tightest I have stayed at and without much privacy to be had, which I didn't enjoy. Good events provide for a community atmosphere and things to do.

Stayed for a week and absolutely loved every second. Delicious home made breakfast with more than one option (often 3) every morning. Amazing staff that were so welcoming, kind and more like friends. Great showers and I slept so well every night too. 2 of the best yoga classes I have ever participated in and learnt so much in the meditation classes and cacao ceremony too. Overall I wish I could give more than 5 stars:) Perfect location, so close to the main streets and squares

Amazing hostel with a great vibe and free yoga and meditation lessons and free breakfast. The closed sleeping area is perfect and very private with bathroom en-suite. About €8-9 a night. Highly recommended ❤️

This place has been the heart and soul of my experience in San Cristobal. It feels less like staying at a hostel and more like being part of a big heart-based family. I was first enchanted with the biweekly Cacao ceremonies and their deep inner explorations with humorous tones. Before long, I was redeveloping a regular Yoga routine - which comes easy when quality Yoga lessons are delivered right to your doorstep for free 3-4x a week (all skill levels). Finally, the free weekly meditation classes are so beneficial that I want to hand somebody money afterwards. The people who run and volunteer at this place are friendly and tons of fun, I feel at home here and I don't want to leave.

I can’t say enough AMAZING things about this incredibly *special* hostel! It’s truly a place like no other….. I’ve been attending the free meditation classes and the super unique and healing cacao ceremonies here for months, and admiring the way the energy of the place and the people just welcomes you. I’ve also now gotten the chance to stay and live at La Isla and fallen even more in love with it! The free yoga classes are taught by incredible teachers on a lovely rooftop terrace and there’s an included vegetarian breakfast is great and such a thoughtful addition (I love banana oat pancake day)! It’s super centrally located, right in the middle of San Cristobal and near everything you need. It’s so great to find an affordable place to stay which offers so much, and brings people together over something other than partying. The value for money when you stay at La Isla is unmatched ….. especially factoring in the unquantifiable vibe that blankets this special place….. Stay here, you won’t regret it !!!
