Positive: Low price, affordable, location close to the market, BUT!!.. Negative: Though low price, the place has a lot of potential for improvements, especially cleaning of bathrooms and dorms..

The staff robbed my money out of my bag. Maybe it was my fault for leaving my bag around but other guests had the same problem. Do not stay here just because its the cheapest place. There is no kitchen, soap or toilet paper in the toilets and your belongings will be stolen by grumpy staff.

Positive: Nice wood construction, very well located, simple but romantic room. Negative: No mousquito protection on the bed we almost did not sleep during the night Staff not very friendly One single bathroom for many guests.

Positive: Beds were clean and comfortable. Rooms were cleaned regularly. Great location, just a few blocks away from Zócalo.. Negative: Toilets and showers are combined and only two for the whole hostel, leading to queues during 'peak hours' No kitchen - would have been useful for having your own breakfast at least. No hostel ambiance. Filter water was 3pesos a liter, whereas it's free in many other hostels. Just one charging point in each dorm room..

Positive: Me and my husband stayed in a private room. Before arriving I was very put off because of the number of bad reviews, but had to book this because it was last-minute and the only place left within our budget. I was so pleased to find it wasn't as bad as I was expecting, though I'm not sure what the dorms are like. In our room, the shower was hot, the sheets looked and smelled clean, though old in parts it was not really so 'dirty' as many have claimed... I never leave reviews, even if I like a place, but I thought I should be fair and give them a good review to balance all the bad ones. It's not that the room was wonderful or anything, but it was good enough for a couple of nights, it did the job, and for the price. I have OCD, and I've had to compromise quite a bit while travelling for four months because of our budget, but I felt ok in this room. Of course as everyone already says, the location is excellent. We easily got to Ethnobotanical Garden, Monte Albán, and Hierve el Agua. The staff was nice to let us cancel a booked night without making it an issue. The WiFi was perfectly fine in our room, not slow.. Negative: Usually, almost all places we've stayed, we are given towels, which is not necessary but it does help, so two towels would have been good. Small mirror in the bathroom would be good, though there was a large mirror in the bedroom which is definitely better than nothing. Most of the glass window in the bathroom was opaque and therefore a curtain was not installed, but it would have been better to make the top part of the glass opaque too, as I didn't feel 100% comfortable taking a shower incase people on the street on balconies across the road could possibly see me, so I stayed ducked in the shower just in case..
