★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This modest pension exceeded my expectations, especially considering I paid only $15 for a triple standard room with ensuite bathroom in Nov 2020. It's located in the "heart" of Barra de Navidad, 5 min walk along the main artery from the Primera Plus/ETN bus stop in Barra. The welcoming and hard-working Maria Louisa makes sure everything is sparkling clean. The rooms are above the restaurant. The WiFi signal doesn't reach the rooms, but Maria Louisa was upfront about this, and showed me where the router was (in the hallway by the balcony), so I could have Internet access while admiring the view from the balcony. The room had 2 double beds, and 1 single bed, with bright white, clean, bedsheets. The mattresses were on the hard side, but that's how I like them. The bathroom had a new shower curtain, hot water, towels, soap and shampoo. The A/C, fan, and TV all worked fine. I believe I was the only guest at the hotel, so it was thankfully quiet. I had a very pleasant and comfortable stay at Casa Chiros, and only wish I stayed longer!
