This is an absolutely charming place with wonderful staff. I was only in Baccalar for 2 days but I am certain I will be returning as I loved it so much. The hotel is about 10 min taxi drive from the ADO station and costs only about 40 pesos! Once I got there I was greeted by the sweetest most kindest human being in the world who made me feel so welcomed. Elvia was the person at the reception who made my stay exceptional. She was kind, sweet , caring and very very helpful. I am learning spanish and was trying to practice my spanish with her. I sounded terrible but she was very nice and encouraging. She spoke english so the comunication was good. I Paid cash as the hotel does not yet accept cards. The rate was so cheap I was afraid of what kind of hotel I would end up in. I was pleasently surprised to come in a beautifully decorated hotel. The outside had beautiful xmas decorations that made the hotel look so lovely , charming and inviting! There was coffee and tea available on the outside table 24 hours however the hot water for the coffee/ tea was not hot enough. The room was amazingly clean, this is the first time that I felt confident enough to walk around bare feet as the floor was so shiny clean!! The bed was FABULOUS! I have never slept in a bed with such soft mattress, i felt my body was in heaven when I lay down. Not only was the mattress soft but the bed sheets were also soft and smelled wonderful while the pillows were fluffy. This time around in my trip to Mexico, I have had the bad luck of staying in hotels with very bad smelling pillows and mattress that smelled like body odor. This made is hard for me to sleep comfortably as the smell made me nauseous . This hotel however did NOT have this problem. The hot water was perfect and I never ran out. The only problem I had in this room was that there was no chair to sit down. I had my laptop and wanted to do work. There was a little half table but no chair so if I wanted to eat drink or do work on my laptop, I had to sit on a bed. A chair, is definitely a mandatory requirement. I hope they add one by the next time I come. There was a fridge that kept my water and beverages so cold! There was an open closet but not enough hangers, only 3 so that is another suggestion for improvement: Add more clothes hangers. There was an Iron and Ironing board. There was a free bicycle rental that I was so grateful for! I used it to go to town and to go the the lagoon of 7 colors. They also gave me a lock with it so if I wanted to stop to the store to pick up groceries, I could lock my bike. Baccalar is a great town and the hotel is only a 10 min bike ride from downtown. It is roughly about a 30 min walk from the hotel to the town centre. It's an easy walk, just follow the main road down. Other clerks working there were also really really nice. There was a night clerk who spoke perfect english. I wanted to eat esquites and coudn't find an esquite vendor in Baccalar ( so many marquesitas vendors but no esquites/elotes vendors) He told me where to find him ( in the central park) and that is where I found him! I booked a tour of the Lagoon of 7 colors with Hotel Luna and it only cost me 250 Pesos! What a great deal. There was also a deck right outside my room with a table and chairs to eat and talk with people. The deck was so lovely with xmas decorations. There was a Hammock on the deck. In the loby downstairs and in the loby on my floor there was a water cooler with clean drinkable water. What a great Hotel. I loved my stay there. I recommend this hotel because it is cheap , clean, charming, beautiful, great services, great staff... The best hotel I have stayed in Mexico so far!! Ask Elvia for recommendations. She is a superstar and amazing person!

Pretty nice place for the money. The staff was very friendly, and the room was clean. The walls were a bit thin and I could hear people in the hallway outside my room late at night, and the neighborhood dogs barking at night and early in the morning. Also the shower leaked into the main room, but that didn't cause any problems. The hammocks in the yard were nice. The hotel was pretty close to the plaza, and they had bikes available.
