Way too expensive for what it offers. Service is rude. We do speak some basic Spanish but they did not seem to understand us, and their English is very limited so we had a hard time understanding each other. They ask us to pay even before we see the room or the laguna. The room is clean but very small. The balconies on the second floor are so small that you can’t sit two persons around the table. Anyway, you don’t really want to relax on the balcony since there is another hotel in construction (noise start at 8am) a few meter away. You don’t have access to a refrigerator, so forget the cold beer near the laguna (no place to buy one near by either). The water machine upstairs doesn’t give you cold water which would have been nice since there is no fridg. There is no coffee machine (only instant coffee) so don’t even think about a good coffee in the morning, even if you bring your own. The breakfast is not included and it is far from any restaurant. The access to the laguna is hidden behind a closed unidentified door. They didn’t even bother with showing us the right door. This is absolutely not adapted for a family. We found better and less expensive near the centre of the town. The only positive thing was the fast wifi so we were able to shop for another hotel.

Small, cozy hotel with lagoon access at a short walking distance. No pool, beautiful dogs. Very kind people and good service.

Quiet and clean hotel close to the water. Great to enjoy the laguna, a bit away from the center of the town.

Johanna at the front desk is amazing! She's very kind, smiley, and accommodating. The rooms have a good style, the food was delicious, and I felt very comfortable. For a traveller that was extremely exhausted, weak and uncomfortable and just wanted to feel at home, I couldn't have asked for a better host or hotel. The rest of the family is great, as well. There IS ongoing construction next door, but i wasnt bothered much by it. Thank you, Johanna and fam!

The service is good. The hotel is nicely decorated. The king bed are good. The sofa is bad poor quality. The bedroom smells humidity as the towels & sheets. The towels are rough. The access road is really bumpy . I wouldn’t recommend this hotel . Price really too high according to the place.

***BE WARNED*** THIS HOTEL IS NOT AS ADVERTISED AND IS FAR MORE EXPENSIVE THAN MUCH BETTER OPTIONS IN BACALAR. The photos suggest it by the lake, it is not. Then if you look on the website it says "100 meters away from the Bacalar Lagoon", it's actually a 10min walk to the nearest entrance to the lake. You can't even view the lake from the hotel as other hotels are in the way. There is no pool either. It is far more expensive than much better options on the lake, you're wasting your money and time if you stay here. DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE I DID OF BOOKING THIS HOTEL!

**This was the review for DayTour! Sorry! PLEASE READ BELOW FOR PANCHO VILLAS HOTEL* Excellent experience! Omar and Enrique were amazing! They taught us to sail and showed us around the lagoon. They were fun and informative and we had some amazing food and drinks on board. They gave us plenty of time to swim too! Will definitely come back and highly recommend! Pancho villas was an incredible stay! They are amazing hosts and the continental breakfast and coffee we didn't know was included was a pleasant surprise! Their full breakfast is also delicious! It's a newer hotel with a tasteful and impressive yetvsimple decor. We truly enjoyed our stay! Would highly recommend!

The rooms were clean and big in a nice "jungle village" style. The towels were an issue every single day... The staff was very friendly but a bit chaotic and the towel issue should not happen in a place where it's claimed to have 4*... No access to the lagoon from hotel location even if in the pics looks differently... The lagoon border is almost completely closed with private property. Not so near to the center of town (Bacalar) and if you don't have a car, it could be complicated to move around.
