Hotel Riu Caribe - 77500 Cancún

First night review: 5 star hotel??? In what universe? This place is like a upscale la Quinta. The the restaurants are buffets, the staff is nice but that doesn’t make up for anything honestly. You can’t make a reservation for dinner. The drinks taste chalky… like they mix their drinks in large containers with powder. Never. Again.

Fantastic vacation! Just checked out from a week long holiday at Riu Caribe. We traveled as a large part of a group and the staff were incredibly accommodating. The beaches are amazing and very well maintained. The water is clear & beautiful. I recommend upgrading to the The Ocean Front rooms, the balconies are huge and the views are breathing. Javier & Karla at the front desk are wonderful, welcoming & so helpful. Victor & Noe made our dinner experiences fantastic each night. The entertainment was a great and there was something fun for all age groups. We will definitely return!

After reading some of the reviews I was a little worried I’m not gonna lie however, after spending a few days enjoying our holiday i was actually frustrated at the people who had wrote bad reviews. This is not the most spectacular hotel I’ve stayed in no. But I didn’t come on holiday to sit In my hotel room. The beach is beautiful and the staff work hard to keep it that way. Entertainment is fun in the day and night, not the best on earth but your in Cancun go out and explore if that’s what your after. There was a huge variety of food and if people have struggled to find anything they like they are probably the type of person to only like chips even at the best of times. The pool and pool area is sparkly clean- the hotel and facilities are spacious. Found staff helpful and friends and found no issues with them. I’m not sure the fan (air con) in our room worked bit I didn’t dwell on it or spend more then 2min trying to work it out so I could also have just been having a blonde moment. Again nothing that would actually ruin your whole holiday. Overall happy with the hotel and everything that comes with ?

I wouldn’t recommend Rio Caribe to any friends or family. First impression - Front Desk… not helpful, absolutely indifferent, borderline rude. We Checked in around 3-4 pm and asked where we can eat after long flight, the answer was to download their app and go from there. Okay then, we did but couldn’t found buffet restaurant because app doesn’t have any resort map, when asked again a front desk they pointed to the left out on beach which is totally a different direction while buffet is on the right around the corner from Front desk. Why would they be so rude? They were was not helpful when asked about best way how to go to Cancun or anything else, answer will be: check the app. Then we tried to sign for the COVID test through the app which requires a hotel Code, we asked Front desk for the code and they answer it should be on the printed envelope we received on checking in. When we looked through all our stuff and can’t find this envelope and returned to Front desk again, they said nothing can be done. Okay, we went through all luggage again and found envelope which doesn’t had any code printed. Went to the Front desk again and they didn’t believe, so we have to show this envelope so they wrote code down with the pen… Seriously??! When we finally schedule our test it doesn’t said location of the test site. Guess what, asked Front desk where to go and Mario said that everything should be in our email. I show him email that doesn’t say location of the testing site on the resort, he said that he can’t help and we have to go outside the hotel and find it somewhere there. Service of this hotel is nowhere close to 4 stars. 2 stars at the best. Front desk ruined all hard work for the rest of the staff. Management was nowhere to be found. Ask for the general manager or supervisor and waited around 90 minutes for the girl who can’t find anyone on charge, no wonder this poor service is practicing in Riu Caribe.

Maybe not a 5-star hotel, but it's definitely a great experience. The staff was friendly and the food was good. For the cost of staying here, our trip was worth every penny. Big thanks to the entertainment crew. Well done on keeping people involved without pressuring them. And the beach was kept clean, which is a plus in my book. FYI, keep in mind that the rooms are a bit dated. There are bigger and newer locations around cancun if you feel the need to be pampered and to spend more.

My boyfriend and I hotel Stay was awesome!! The hotel is nice and clean the staff was amazing . Alex front desk , Israel from the pool bar , Alejandro the waiter were incredible . They were fun and made our stay a very comfortable one. Only complaint I have is the beds could be softer but it wasn't a huge deal. Definitely a trip to remember!

Everybody that worked at this resort was amazing. I went with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday, and they surprised me with declaring and putting balloons in my hotel room for me. The food is okay, but I don’t care for the food. The environment is very friendly and entertaining. They always have cool shows going on and activities. You’re also next to a lot of things. The most we would have to drive is 5 minutes. Definitely recommend staying here for your next stay in Cancun.

Overall - this is an average place to stay. The staff is excellent, the rooms are nice, the food is okay. It was almost all buffet, I prefer a la carte menus. The buffet food was often looking kind of dry. Location is awesome. Some of my group had a difficult time sleeping, saying the beds were too hard. I didn't have that issue. Location is absolutely spectacular, beach is awesome, there was lots of space and always chairs available.
