Hotel Riu Palace Mexico - 77710 Playa del Carmen

Awesome place to rest and relax for a week! My partner and I had a great time here and met some awesome people along the way. One perk to staying here is that you have access to all the Rius in the area. Food was amazing !! The steak restaurant is a must!! All the buffets were great too. I highly recommend this place. Only complaint is that the rooms are not 5 star quality. Very poorly painted and not very well maintained.

A slight food downer from previously but also 2 things much nicer. We have always loved the breakfast bacon at Riu Palaces. There was no regular(American style) bacon the week we were there. There were some thin but very wide - several inches - of Canadian type bacon with wide strips of protein and fat but they were as hard to eat as tough jerky. There did not seem to be as many beef and fish selections as we have had at the past buffets at Riu Palace. Other than that - the food was great, as expected. A big new extra, for me, was the addition of a coffee/cappuccino machine at the pool bar. Previously, if there was not a coffee machine at the pool buffet you had to go to the lobby coffee bar. It was great to have coffee readily available at the pool. Another nice new extra was custom made real fruit smoothies available all day at the pool bar. We enjoyed those several times. the lobster tails seem to be getting smaller all the time at the steak house but they do not limit you ordering more than one or creating your own surf and turf or lobster and steak. The menu surf and turf has changed to using large shrimp instead of lobster. Always great service, food and rooms at Riu Palace. Everything met or exceeded expectations. The above changes - no regular bacon and fewer meats on the down side and pool coffee and smoothie drinks on the upside were the main changes I noticed. i have started using the Riu app the last 2 stays at Riu Palace and find it very useful to order house keeping, any extra room items or maintenance and also requests around the resort. Response has always been as soon or sooner than even expected.

This resort from beginning to end is absolutely amazing! The rooms are so clean where you can walk barefoot and not feel disgusted. All restaurants are delicious and have such a great routine you will never wait too long to get your food! Every employee helps clean tables and gets you whatever you ask for they don’t say I’ll get your server. Teamwork is amazing here! Super friendly super clean food is delicious by far best resort we have been too in Mexico! We are a total of 12 people ages from 12-47 and no one has any complaints!

The hotel is very clean and overall well run. The pools are lovely. Front desk staff are helpful and friendly. The nightly entertainment leaves something to be desired. The biggest disappointment in my opinion is food. I was just not impressed with the food quality in any of the restaurants at all. Overall we had a pleasant stay but food wise, I have had better in comparable all inclusives in Mexico.

Riu palace Mexico is a great trip. Food was good, I wish they would have a hibachi “cook in front of you” restaurant. Pools were awesome, staff is very friendly. Resort is clean. They had some activity’s through out the day for kids to participate which was nice. I only have one complaint and that is the shower in the rooms. The drain always clogged up. Only one question and maybe someone will respond.. walking down the middle of resort I noticed in a few room buildings on the corner it appeared that it was a room with a spiral staircase going up to next floor. Is that a room available to rent or is that for like owners?

Above all else, what stands out to me the most during my trip to the Riu was Eduardo. Eduardo is a staff member working the 24 hour lounge who provided the greatest service of anyone at the resort. Possibly the greatest service of any staff member at any resort I have stayed at. He made us feel truly at home and went to unimaginable lengths to provide a legendary experience. I will remember his kindness and attentiveness for the rest of my life. Riu, do yourself a favor make Eduardo CEO. He is capable to lead the resort in a direction that competitors will never stand a chance to rival. Eduardo, you are the man! Four stars because the resort lacked amenities and the food was mids. I would rate 3 stars if not for Eduardo!

The resort is clean, comfortable, and spacious. Depending on where you eat the food ranges from good to excellent. What would draw me back to this resort is the staff. They are kind, capable, and responsive to needs. The entertainment staff is charismatic and sincere in their wish for you to enjoy yourself. We particularly found Joe, the daytime activities instructor and evening performer, Israel, Sophia, and Itza lovely people who made us feel very welcome. We looked forward to saying hello to them every day.

Second time here. Love it. We brought our two older boys for spring break and they had a great time too. Everything and everyone is so wonderful. The staff is very attentive, the amenities are stellar. The beach and the water is perfect. We highly recommend this all inclusive resort for your next family vacation. There's something for everyone.
