An Excellent all-inclusive resort. The resort is beautiful and has everything you would want. The room was clean and very comfortable. We were on the 10th floor directly across from the ocean. The mini bar was well stocked as were the liquor dispensers. We enjoyed the pools and many activities such as volley ball and fitness class in the pool. There is plenty of beach and you can find a spot that's not too crowded. The grounds are immaculate and everything is very clean. The food was better than we expected. The buffet always had something for everyone and the food was consistently great. The steakhouse was awesome and the Italian restaurant had wonderful appetizers. We loved the grill by the pool, which has great burgers and chicken. We really enjoyed the evening entertainment, including music in the lobby bar. The sax player was amazing! We also hung out in the sports bar and caught some games. The best thing about this resort is the amazing staff! Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. The service at the pools was awesome! The dining room staff were also pleasant and helpful. Housekeepers did a great job. We would definitely return to this resort in the future. Thank you so much!

Amazing place! The staff are friendly and go above and beyond. Food was great, and the drinks were flowing. The only complaint I have would be the big one-person bathtub, in the middle of the room. No one used it, and I banged my knee on it a couple times. Not a big deal, but just seems a waste of space. All in all, it's a great resort, with amazing staff! Keep up the Good Work!

Very nice and clean family resort! Beautiful views. House keeping was amazing. The themed restaurants and buffet were all pretty good. The wait staff were very fast and extremely helpful. We did have an issue with the front desk losing one of our rooms at check in and they were not very helpful or accommodating. Had to get the travel agency involved and they resolved our issues.

We immediately got a surprise complimentary upgrade at check in. We were able to stay in the villas which are in an adult only area. It was spectacular. The staff was incredible and from check in to check out, everything was phenomenal. The food was delicious, the variety at the specialty restaurants was impressive, the evening entertainment well worth it, the grounds beautiful, the beach and pools gorgeous, specialty drinks amazing, and location was terrific. The bus stop to get to downtown was less than 5 minute walk and the gym on site was perfect for our weight lifting, yoga, and cardio workout needs. My husband and I and the other couple we went with had a wonderful holiday start at the Riu!

I struggled with giving this location a 5 star because although it had several awesome qualities, 1 key quality was a major miss for me. Here are the top qualities of the place. The retaurant selections and Food options are PHENOMENAL and deserves a 10 star HANDS DOWN!!! For an all inclusive resort, I was beyond impressed with how great the food was. In addition to the great food, the staff handling the food was top tier. You can tell they were properly train on food safety which, eased my mind all weekend as a food connoisseur. 2. The staff were extremely friendly and not desperate for a tip which enticed me to want to tip them even more every chance I had. 3. The drinks were strong and not watered down like most resorts. The customer service staff were super helpful especially, when trying to plan a special surprise for my bf birthday before we arrived. Main reason why I did not give them a 5 star was the room structure. The rooms are in desperate need of renovation. Well at least the adult villas are in need. The room will produce a strong moldy smell if you don't allow the balcony door to stay open for air to circulate. Due to the amount of moisture build up in the room from the shower and lack of air circulation, the floors were always slippery, wet, cold, and uncomfortable to walk on unless you put towels down. For the amount of money you spend to stay here, you want the entire experience to match. Lastly, I paid for the large villa and was given a smaller room and trust me, the room was definitely small.

Absolutely fantastic!. Everyone took such great care of us. From the guy who took our suitcases up to our room, to all the amazing bartenders. It was my first time going to Cancun and I was a little nervous when it came to resort food but everything was perfect. The Italian restaurant was great. (Definitely recommend trying the lamb). We stayed at the adults only villas and everything was up to par. Absolutely clean, looked just as it was advertised! The only complaint / disappointment I endured during our stay was the resort lacked much entertainment or night life especially as all the bars except for the sports bar closed by 12:30-1:00 am as well as the sports bar food was a tad bit stale and dry so it was a bit of a disappointment once everything was closed. We had a regular housekeeper every day (which I had forgot her name unfortunately) but she was AMAZING! Our rooms were kept clean daily. Definitely excited to check out Rivera Maya next this year!

It was great! From the check in to the check out we had a great time. We stayed in the villas with the adult only pool and loved our room. We had an ocean view room which was very nice. Food was good, drinks were good, they had a lot of pools which was really enjoyable. The beach was white sand, blue waters. The peninsula seems to be a little more windy but the weather was still perfect. We used Happy Shuttle to and from the airport which was inexpensive and very easy to use. I would do this trip exactly the same all over again!

This is our second time at the Riu Palace Peninsula and it did not disappoint. The hotel is beautiful and well kept. The food/restaurants were pretty good, I found that my kids always found something to eat that they liked. We enjoyed the pools and the beach. The staff were very kind and helpful. Kevin (one of the waiters at the buffet) was awesome! The girls at the kids club were amazing to my kids, they sure miss seeing them. The entertainment team did a great job keeping guests entertained and asking people to join activities, but never pushy or annoying. Thank you to everyone at this Riu resort for making our vacation relaxing and fun and memorable!
