★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Big, bigger, biggest. Riu Tequila is a huge resort with something for everyone. You want to party? Go for it! You want to relax? Go for it! Food is good, the people that work there are very service minded and treat as their guest. They can use a bit more rest rooms around the pool area (haven't found one of them) and ash trays but overall a good resort

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An absolutely 5star experience. The rooms were large, spotlessly clean, comfortable and had everything you needed. The food was delicious, well prepared and cooked and the menu pleased everyone. The pools and grounds were immaculate and the staff were not to be faulted. That with unlimited cocktails, drinks etc (if you wanted), snacks and service with a smile this was the perfect holiday.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No coffee maker in room is my numerous uno gripe. Had to walk all the way to sports bar and back in early morning. Other than that the place is not bad. Good food, great upkeep and maintenance, nice pools and kind service. We enjoyed our stay. Being able to utilize properties across the street is a major plus.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overall this is a nice hotel and we have had an enjoyable stay. My major complaint is with the sun beds around the pool. There is an accepted culture of people getting up early to reserve sun beds with towels, leaving no beds in the shade for anyone who gets to the pool after 8am. It should not be necessary to get up at 7am on holiday in order to avoid sun burn. In my opinion the hotel should clamp down on this practice, and sun beds that are clearly not in use should be made available for those who are at the pool and would like to make immediate use of them. The pool is also slightly small for the hotel when at full capacity. We were also somewhat disappointed at the lack of sun beds with umbrellas on the beach.
Those gripes aside, the hotel food is excellent, probably the best all inclusive food we have eaten. There is lots of variety throughout the day, and we were pleasantly surprised by the oriental restaurant. The drinks are usually good, again with plenty of choice.
The rooms are large and clean overall, although we did have a small amount of mould in our bathroom. The fridge is refilled regularly, ensuring there is always a plentiful supply of soft and alcoholic drinks. The air conditioning is somewhat old fashioned and a little noisy, but does the job.
The staff are really excellent, they are always very keen to help in whatever way they can, a real highlight of our stay.
The hotel is well located for trips to Playa Del Carmen and Fifth Avenue, with a taxi service immediately outside. We found the TUI reps to be very helpful when planning excursions.
In conclusion, I think a 4* rating for this hotel would be more appropriate than a 5*, although we have had a very enjoyable stay and would not put anyone off from booking here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was great experience, people work hard to make our stay wonderful. Very good entertainment for kids and adults. They were always interesting and involving both kids and adults.
Food delicious, big variety. I loved their guacamole. Could eating it 3 times a day. Pools are nice.
Beach is big and wide, only lack of shade.
We still had a great experience and will recommend this place without hesitation!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed here for 16 days may 22. All the staff in the hotel need to be commended for their service, always happy and always working hard. Rooms, grounds we're immaculate, the main buffet room had plenty to off although could do with a little more gluten free items on offer. The steak and Mexican restaurants we're not so great. The hotels entertainment was the best I have ever seen. The only main down side was people reserving sun beds at the pool bar and not using them till late in the day thus stopping others from using them but we did always manage to find a space.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We just came back from our 7 day vacation and it was amazing. I have nothing but great things to say about this hotel. The food was excellent, there is so much variety and something for everybody to eat. Shrimp, crab, tacos, mole, sushi, turkey, duck, you name it they had it at one point. The hotel was clean and they have so many activities it just doesn't get old. Our favorite thing was the water polo and the night shows, especially the neon party. That party was the highlight of our stay. The beach was across the street maybe a 5 minute walk, but you wont feel it with all the beautiful scenery around you. There's also ? in the trees, how cool! Advice for parents, take a shower curtain. Otherwise, everybody will be able to see you showering. In conclusion, I highly recommend it, we will definitely be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We just had our first all inclusive experience at Riu tequila and this place was amazing! The food is great, there is a broad range of choices. We were here for 18 days, and we ate something different everyday. The staff that work here is fantastic. They work extremely hard but they always make time to have a little chat with you. A big special mention to Jeremias and Ezequiel, two amazing guys working at the restaurant. They were so nice and sweet. We loved our stay!
