Iberostar Tucan - 77710 Playa del Carmen

Very clean resort with attentive staff. COVID protocols are in place and followed. We liked having lodging in smaller buildings rather than one large building. Very quiet, except for the howler monkeys in the night. We had good views of them off of our balcony on afternoon. The beach area is so nice, also a lovely pool area. The staff was so helpful everywhere. Paola Borjas at concierge desk was so helpful to show me use of app and Google evaluation.

We are having an amazing stay at the Iberostar Tucan. Our room is spacious, bright and comfortable. The pool area is beautiful and clean. No shortage of good food and drinks. The staff has made us feel welcome and has been attentive to any needs. Yuliana, in particular, has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Very friendly and is willing to spend time speaking with us.

Beautiful resort nestled around a jungle central area full of amazing plants, waterfalls and limestone passageways to see and explore. Plenty of wildlife too. We enjoyed walking through the forest paths on our way to and from the room. The lobbies, buffet eating areas, and lobby bars are all open air which was wonderful. Entertaining karaoke, and live music in the evenings at the lobby bars. Didn't sit to watch any of the nightly shows, but they seemed enjoyable enough for those who did attend. Huge pool including an adult only pool with bar, but no hot tubs or private jacuzzies. Buffet and restaurant food was delicious, no room service sadly, though. Safe location within the gated Playacar neighborhood. Beach was great, water incredible, and seaweed was cleaned off daily. Rooms were decent, but could use a little updating.

We had an amazing first family holiday at the Tucan. All staff we came across were friendly and helpful. Big shout out to Saul who we met in the jungle bit and gave us some info about the monkeys as well as Jesus in the beach bar who was really lovely and efficient. We had a beautiful room overlooking the jungle and it was such a great experience to be able to hear and see the animals from our balcony. There was a great selection of food available and the facilities were fantastic. Would definitely recommend to anyone and hope we can return one day. Gracias!

The property was absolutely beautiful and we had an excellent stay. Everyone was quick to assist us when we needed and our expectations were exceeded. Nataniel was extremely helpful and made us feel welcome the entire stay. He answered every question we had and gave us great suggestions. He is a remarkable employee and assured that all of our needs were met. He made our stay even more enjoyable than it already was !

There’s so much to say I have to make a pro/con list. Pros: -The grounds really are beautiful, they have peacocks, monkeys, cats and a few other animals that run around right in front of you. -There are 3 waterfalls on the property. -The waiters and cleaning staff are great. -The beach was clean. Cons: -There’s no hot tub, and the ocean/pool is a bit chilly in January. -If you need anything like Q-tips, razor, and room service … you will not get it. You’ll have to buy anything you need at their store. -They offer a free covid test but only if you schedule it 3 days in advance, which we were not told to do, and therefore they said we would have to pay for our to get it on time. -You always have to be on top of everything at this hotel and double check everything.

Incredible resort/hotel. Vibrant, clean, and so much to experience/see on the grounds. All the staff were outstanding- special mention to the beach bar boys; Javier, Julio, and Omar. They were always so pleasant and took care of my family and I well. Javier knew my drink and always had it on the ready whenever he saw me coming by! These guys were friendly and always served with a fun and warming attitude! Would definitely recommend and come back to this hotel again!

Beautiful resort. Quiet and tranquil in your room and fun party at the pool. And all an easy walk. Martini was excellent at getting us dinner reservations as well as handling our Covid testing. All of the many female front desk and concierge staff were also tremendous in our stay. Love this resort and can’t wait to return.
