Good historic place for the pre-classic period of the Maya civilization. It need more governmental attention.

It's a small archeological site but worth going if you want to get a better sense of the Maya culture.

Lot of history here. Not too crowded when we were there and so we could take our time in a relaxing manner.

Not developed like other sites but is very interesting. It is claimed that the Mayan Long Calendar was developed here. I totally enjoyed visiting the site.

Such a great place to see some very ancient ruins.

Only a small portion of this Myan city was uncovered so don't expect something as grand as Chichan Itza. But if you are in the area it's worth stopping.

First of all, be aware that the archaeological site stretches more than a mile, N-S and is divided into several "Groups" of [largely unexcavated?] mounds, ruins and stelae labeled A-F. Most tours go to the easily-accessed (as in right next to the highway) reconstructed mounds, 'ball court', etc. at the "Group F" site on the north side of the highway. To see the noted [but largely illegible] "Tree of Life" Stela 5, you have to go down a narrow, fairly bumpy, rough road south of the highway to the "Group A" site. You don't just drive / stroll in, however: access is through a Mayan household's compound and a guide / chaperone is likely required. Presumably, there are permissions, fees, and the like that have to be arranged in advance. I was on organized tours to both the "Group A" and "Group F" sites. The field in which Stela 5 is located is dominated by a massive, living 'Tree of Life', said to be sacred to the Maya.
