Sad to say after having dined on numerous occasions at this Restaurant with good results and meeting one owner partner I was quite impressed I continued to support them using Uber eats I left Merida for approximately 3 months on the night of my return I immediately attempted to order a fish and chip meal that was a standout meal noted it was missing from the menu I saw a shrimp dish that was similar turned out to be woefully disappointing thought it odd that they would replace a fine dish with such but it was late and I was hungry so I overlooked it which brings me to this moment on July 6 I had company and ordered 3 cheese bacon hamburgers with French fries the packaging and appearance seemed correct and I positively reviewed it immediately to that effect went to bed and experienced severe pain and illness in the morning my guest reported similar reaction one being slightly less affected coincidentally that person mainly ate the fries, the pain increased and we had to be taken to Star Medica Hospital where we were treated for food poisoning resulting in gastroenteritis it took four days of costly medicine including antibiotics to regain a sense of normalcy, upon recovery I visited the restaurant to speak to the owner and immediately sensed a clear difference in the atmosphere he was not available I was told that the restaurant is under new management/ownership I inquired as to when the change was made and was informed 3 months ago, a cautionary tale 3 Months for many businesses in Merida is a long time do your due diligence recourses are limited. Avoid James & Co

Showed up early on Friday evening, lovely rooftop dining but due to COVID curfew it was packed! Reservations are necessary, at least in February, 2020. We will return.

I had a good time with my friends here, Alexis Poot was a great waiter and the food was great.
