β β β β β We stayed at JOY for only two nights but this was the perfect amount of time in Tulum as we enjoy vacations with more solitude.
Check-in was just a short hassle because we arrived 1 day later than expected. I had messaged the hotel per email as well as on Instagram so it is unfortunate that they cancelled our booking although we were not more than 24 hours later.
The rooms were clean although the fan was very noisy. We did end up moving rooms just once.
Nice pool and a nice kitchen area where we spent the evenings playing cards.
I think it is awesome that they offer free bicycles and we discovered Plaza Central just around the corner a great little food truck area with live music in the evenings.
The location is not in the loudest part of Tulum so we got a great nights sleep!

β β β β β Every little detail is thought through to make it such a comfortable experience, while staying true to the eco concept.
And the staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
Simply amazing

β β β β β The staff were very friendly and the pool was nice. The location was a bit if a journey from the main strip, but that didn't bother us, about a 15-20 minute walk (or the staff is happy to call you a taxi). The beds, however, were the worst I have ever slept on. They were made for children. I'm 5'10, my feet were hanging off and my head was up against the wall. I could feel every board of the frame underneath the mattress. My hips and back were very sore. We were set to stay there for 6 nights, on the 4th night we decided to get a hotel room for the night just so our bodies could recover from the terribly uncomfortable beds. Our plan was to go back for the last 2 nights and tough it out, since we had already paid. We decided to pack our things and move for the remaining 2 nights because they were too awful. I have never left a place halfway through my stay, especially since it was already paid for. My sister is tiny, about 100 pounds and she said she could feel every board underneath her in her bed as well and was extremely uncomfortable. Our goals for accommodations are usually pretty modest, the expectation is a decent bed and a hot shower. The only reason it got three stars is because the staff was very nice and the shower was decent. There is a kitchen, but it had microwave only, no stove or oven. I would not stay here again.

β β β β β Excellent place to stay.
Good sleep experience, they keep the place clean, rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, front desk, good organization. Friendly staff, bikes included,
Pool is small but nice for a quick refresh, cenotes near by, gypsea market for groceries, Galatia vegan tacos near by delicious, yoga at the experience hotel NEARBY 15 bucks and they include tours for 100-150 for chichen ITZA,
Hotel area is queit people are friendly, showers have strong water. Certain beds are better than others. No regrets. Easy to ride bike into the main drag.

β β β β β The ambiance of the hotel is really cool, you are not so far from the city with a car and the nature feeling around the property is very nice. It has a glamping feeling as the rooms don't have A.C. but just a fan, and the walls are actually like a big tent. This is nice and didn't affect our stay. The pool was a bit cold but refreshing. The parking lot was full, but parking outside is not an issue.
We think the price is a bit high for the installations and the continental breakfast that is offered (we paid around 50β¬/night). Unfortunately this is standard in Tulum, everything is overpriced thanks to mostly North American tourists paying whatever they are asked for.

β β β β β Cute hotel. Its like glamping in the jungle. Pro hack- turn the fan on high and you wonβt be able to hear anything from outside. Breakfast was kind of a joke, they just had bread and coffee. I loved how they have potable water in the front and you can take the old bikes out whenever you want.
