This hotel is beautiful but it is loud! For $350 plus a night you would think you should be able to have some peace and quiet but there is a beach club next door that boast music sometimes until 3 in the morning. I booked this place for a relaxing vacation but couldn’t relax. The music seemed endless and so loud. I couldn’t wait to get back home and here silence again. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. They check in on you each day through WhatsApp. The bathtub was the saving grace for this hotel. It was wonderful but once again you can’t fully relax because chances are high music will be blasting while you are in it. Not the hotel’s fault of course but the beach was full of smelly sargassum. It must be the season so I really wasn’t able to swim. Make sure you check the season when you are visiting. Overall, I wish there was a disclaimer about this hotel and how loud it is.

Beautiful hotel, truly one of a kind jungle experience. The noise however is louder than anything I have ever experienced at a hotel in my life. The beach club next store starts its music and base at 830/9am and does not turn it down till around 1am. This made being at the pool or beach difficult as you could not hear conversations with friends sitting next to you. At night the bar built into the hotel turns its music on every night of the week (including Monday and Tuesday) from 10p - 2/3am. The music at this bar is so incredibly loud you will feel like you are sleeping on a dance floor. We are all between the ages of 32-36 and there to have a good time, but the lack of respect to hotel patrons was mind boggling.

I’m so impressed with the staff here. I left an expensive ring on the table last night at dinner and was sure it would be gone when I returned. The staff were totally honest - they kept the ring at the front desk until this afternoon when I could pick it up. The hotel restaurant, Karma, was also great - food and service were excellent. Would definitely come back!

Would not stay here again.. I understand that construction is going on which is fine and was not a bother but even in the renovated ocean front unit the air conditioning was garbage, I couldn’t even tell it was on the only Saving grace was the fan. The room was humid and not chilled at all. I mistakenly went during red tide. Every other hotel on the beach does cleanups to control it. Not this one… you have the luxury of staying in an ocean front of literally buildup piles of dead carcass smelling seaweed right next to your window wafting into the warm bad air conditioned room. I woke up at night not being able to breathe. You can smell this place from the street. They have an oil diffuser that was never refilled or had oil put into it so I am guessing it was for pure decoration. They failed to mention they offered bikes to “rent” which is free at every other resort so we spent a ridiculous amount of money getting ripped off by cabs. Their pool was ratchet with hood hop music blasting from a guests personal speaker so we didn’t even try that out. Not sure what the resort fee was for since most of their amenities weren’t even built yet. I am guessing the good reviews on this place are fake. And we were catfished into thinking we were going to an upscale resort

My girlfriend and I walked into to Kanan off the street after dinner on a whim for drinks, not knowing what to expect. To say that we were blown away would be understating it. Our waiters, Jonathan and Luis, were incredibly attentive and kind the entire time, and made the entire experience completely one-of-a-kind. The views from the rooftop bar are excellent, and there was live music when we went. We got to try a few of the mixed drinks, and were impressed by the quality. All in all, could not be happier with our experience getting drinks here.

If you want a quite beach experience and night do not stay here - Stay further south. I booked this on a whim without reading the review details. Our jungle suite was beautiful, well air conditioned but NOT quite. It’s a beach club so we could hear loud music until 2am every night. If you can sleep with the TV on then you should be okay. The beds and sheets were so comfy - the noise was not an issue for us. The staff is very friendly and all the food we had was great. We came during seaweed season and the hotel didn’t clean it up as well as other hotels. Would stay again

We had an amazing dinner. We all sat in a “birds nest” outside overlooking the ocean and the jungle! It was so beautiful. It happened to be a pretty windy night so our AWESOME waiter Markos was so kind and had a table down below set up for us where it was not too windy. He was so great and recommended delicious food options. He was very attentive and personable. The service here was top notch. He was so great. We really can’t wait to come back and request him. He went above and beyond and The food and service were all amazing. We highly recommend!

Had one of the best experiences thanks to our amazing waiter Jonathan. He was so personable, and when my fiance asked him to take a picture of us, he went above and beyond and took over 30 pictures of us in various spots on the roof. The food was good, but the service was amazing. I can't say enough positive things about the service Jonathan provided. In addition Sergio made great drinks. I highly recommend.
