La Casa Morada Tulum - 77760 Tulum

Recently moved to Tulum looking for outdoor furniture, so came my w/ my baby while waiting for my wife next door, they seemed like they were "trying" to be friendly but trying to figure out if i was serious about buying, so it came off as fake and forced. After asking about various items and asking some questions about them i asked if i could use the wifi to let my wife know where i was they obliged, but afterwards when i asked "to try out" the couch, they said, well only if it was quick, as if to say we want you out, super rude imho. Left saying, buena suerte. Little sense of customer service, which is very common in Tulum. Which is why i hope this review may help in some way. We were genuinely considering getting some furniture from them and as it turns out my wife already had. They actually have some great pieces, our style, which i had mentioned to the ladies. Most people in Mexico are pretty friendly and welcoming especially when you come to a store. Tulum it is all about the $, wealthy tourists and resorts.

Worked with Oscar’s carpenteria for 5 years now. Great work but most importantly he is honest and fair...which is not common for here...for example we recently paid for some work and he handed us back 5000 pesos (250usd) as my partner had put too much in the envelope. That is the type of guy he is. We use him for our home projects like sofas, tables etc as well as our businesses here in Tulum...building palapas, plumbing, electricity, metal work. Very easy to work with, perfect English and fair pricing. Highly recommend him.

They made me a great a beautiful L shape sofa and Wooden TV cabinet. We’ve also used them to make many items of furniture which is excellent quality and as designed, they are professional and on time with their timescales, I highly recommend.

La Casa Morada is the best furniture & carpenteria store in tulum! Oscar & Ana are phenomenal in their creations; from the fabrics, to the fine detail of the wood we selected for our home. Ezequiel who often works in the store has an incredible eye for design and a passion to help you in the best way possible! My only regret is not buying more from them.

We had a fabulous experience with everything we purchased at Casa Morada. Lorena, who speaks perfect English, worked with us on our purchases and our custom cushions. Our cushions actually came in earlier than expected which tells me that they know how to put an order in in a timely way!

I have had the best help from La Casa Morada, and I still use them frequently for my design projects. I have to write this, because they deserve to get a seriously good review. The people here have given me the best service during my design process on a hotel I was working on and also now when I am designing my own place in Tulum. Efficiency is not Tulum´s strongest point in general, as many would agree on, but these people delivers on time, with the warmest hearts and goes above and beyond to help out. I am very impressed by them, as respectful human beings, as kind people and people who assists you in any way. Also; I usually make different design choices than most people (because it comes with my profession) and they do their best to understand my needs, and they actually delivers (on time!!!! he he ;) . I'm super impressed, and I would recommend them highly.

4 years ago I decorated my first apartments in Tulum with La Casa Morada on the recommendation of someone who told me about them. That furniture was so well made and of the highest quality that still seems as it’s new while most of my neighbors had to replace the furniture that was recommended by the developers. Besides the high quality their furniture is made by local artisans using wood sourced from the jungle and when you buy from them you are supporting the hard working people from the Mayan communities. I recently bought another apartment and of course they were my first place to go to. They worked with me to customize the furniture for the entire place to give it the unique style I was looking for. Again they didn’t disappoint. However, one of the outdoor tables started to suffer under the hot weather here. When I told them about it I expected they would say it is what it is but instead they took the one I bought and remade it so the wood wouldn’t shrink and crack under the sun and now it’s the most beautiful table I have. In summary, with Casa Morada you get beautiful, artfully made furniture which is made by the local community and you get the peace of mind that your investment is secure as they will stand for it.
