I stayed in the Colonial part with my wife and kids, and 2 other groups of families went as well with us. Rooms were decent, but had ants, even after being sprayed by maintenance. Washing everything as soon as we get home! The buffets and restaurants were a big let down; the same food and desserts in almost every station every day. The staff were really pleasant, and very friendly. Another complaint I had was that the musicians performed the majority of the time to English music.....WHY?????? I'm in Mexico, I don't care to hear renditions of songs from the 70s-2000s of popular American music. I would've much rather heard Latin American music the entire time. The last complaint I have was the pool.....it was filled well over 5 feet, and we had to basically walk around on tip toes if we weren't swimming. It wasn't the clearest water on top of that. The beach was nice, but suffered from the seaweed problem daily. Tractors had to shovel it out by the truckload. We weren't able to see any coral reefs from the resort, nor sea turtles. We saw tons of fish however. Overall, I wouldn't be revisiting this resort. This is my 3rd time in Mexico in the Riviera Maya. This was the least favorite of my visits

One of the smaller buffets, and the one we usually attended for breakfast. The selection was pretty good, and my favorite dishes were the plantains and sausages. There was a waffle and crepes station that had a fairly quick turnaround, and lots of various breads. Service was hit or miss, and it sometimes took a while to get coffee. The self-service juice area could also run out of glasses. Other than those minor things, it was a very good buffet.
