We were fortunate to find a this place offering great take-out near our hotel during a COVID shutdown. It’s been in the family for 52 years and they take great pride in what they serve. As exceptional restaurant, reasonable price for quality. Let’s support them so they don’t loose a great place when COVID finally ends!

La Lanterna is the classic family-run Italian restaurant. Great service from experienced servers and wonderful food. We try to stop in at least once or twice each time we visit CDMX.

La Lanterna offers impeccable service and tasteful music. I would have liked a bit more flavor in my marinara sauce, but I enjoyed the high quality meat in the ravioli.

The cannelloni was gross and very unpleasant, tasting like they had poured a can of cow cream on top. Worst Italian restaurant in Mexico City. Zero classic or authentic. Overpriced for what you get. The fondue was ok. The bread was dry and looked and tasted cheap like it was bought in a supermarket. The egg plant parmigiana was mushy and overcooked. Service is polite and fast.

Had a solo Valentine’s Day dinner here and was made to feel right and home and so well taken care of by the chef, manager and wait staff. The tagliatelle bolognese was just how I like it very rustic and homey just like you get at a farm stay in Italy . Chocolate cake was also delicious. Thank you for making my evening so special
