Worth the stop on your way home to or from chichen itza. All around unforgettable experience

Absolutely nice! Super friendly and open hearted owner. Food was super delicious and unique. Really authentic, they even show u around and tell the recipe for their salsa which was the best I’ve had so far in México. So an absolute recommendation if ur around! Super happy we found this place.

OMG!!! What a fantastic find!! ? I can't believe they have a big sign by the road to attract more visitors. The reason we found this place is that we got a recommendation from our airBnB host and it was exactly what we needed. La Tia De Kaua (named after 'The Aunty of Kaua' a beautiful old lady, who I got to meet) is a family run restaurant that is open from morning to 6pm. They make everything from scratch every day! They even make their corn flower for their tacos themselves, right there on the premises. I was given a tour to look in the kitchens and was allowed to make my own taco which they then baked especially for me. What an experience! ? The staff were so friendly and accommodating, it feels like I've known them for years. It's the perfect stop after visiting the ruins and/or cenotes in Chichen Itza! My tips: Be there on time because they close at 6pm and bring cash as they don't have their own card reader.

The food was very good. The problem is that they overcharged us compared to what others paid. This local experience shouldn’t cost what the big city does for western food at. 350 pesos for two dishes (pork and langaniza) with tortillas and beans, plus a horchata and green drink. They didn’t give us a menu and the guy was clearly making up the bill amount in front of us. Sad ending to a tasty meal.

10/10 If you are around Chichen Itza you have to go to La Tía De Kaua. The restaurant is a family business and everyone is working there. The service is very friendly and English speaking, you can watch the aunts preparing the food. They only have 3 different dishes but the taste extremely good. They have chicken with tortillas and salsas, fried tortillas with egg inside and homemade sausages. We tried everything and paid with drinks, food and desserts around 240 MX$. I recommend you to eat there, it’s a great experience.

If you can make it here, it is more than worth the trip. The atmosphere is awesome, the food and people were great. Definitely stopping here again next time I am in Mexico

It was really tasty the only problem was our food was kind of cool already. They were really packed. But the salsa and tortillas definitely were worth it . We order a piece of longaniza wich was pretty good and it was just off the grill.

If you are around Chichén Itzá come here. They only have 1 specialty, it is called Poc Chuc, come here if you want to eat pork. It comes with onions, cilantro, frijoles, tortillas and a spicy sauce. They have the plus option that comes with sausage and egg, we had the normal one and were full after it! We paid around 300Mx with tip included, we left a lot of tip because of the service. There is free parking. We had it with beer and agua de Chaya. The agua de Chaya homemade is the best flavoured water I had in México! The service and food were very fast! Everything is homemade, you can see how they cook it. We ate lunch around 11:30am, I love you can eat lunch so early here! The attentive personnel is one of the best things this place has. Thank you, if back in Mexico we will come back!
