At the heart of central Mexico City, El Lago offers premium location with its fancy set up. One side of the restaurant oversees a small lake, there’s even a roller coaster on the other side of the lake. We were there for a conference event, so it wasn’t truly a critique on its menu items, more like its catering services. I have to say they have a lot of improvements to make. The ceviche salad was certainly the highlight of the meal, it was very fresh and mixed with avocado was brilliant, I wanted to ask for a second plate, but unfortunately it ran out. Now the main entree, the cod fish dish and beef(or pork) slices? The fish was over cooked and left in the kitchen for too long, meat wasn’t tender anymore and had a very blend taste to it. I haven’t had such mediocre tasting cod fish in a very long time. The pork/beef slide was difficult to cut and almost tasteless, my friend couldn’t even finish half of the plate. Definitely something to think about to improve in the future! ?Must order? Lovely and upscale restaurant right on the lake in Chapultepec park. I felt very underdressed as most of the guests wore suits and ties and dresses but the service was phenomenal as was the food. Wonderful view over the lake, excellent wine list and excellent choices on the menu. The duck with Oaxaca mole was delicious, tender and flavorful. For a nice lunch or dinner out, I highly recommend this place.

The complimentary bread is fresh with crisp crust and accompanied by some of the best butter I’ve had. The ceviche is seasoned well, very fresh and served with various vegetables. The service was good and so was the view.

The gallery is AMAZING, the exhibit is very well curated, great art and very worth going to. The building is beautiful and the view of the lake is nice. But the restaurant is veeeeery slow, it took more than 30 min to get something to drink, the food took way longer. Overall the gallery is worth going to, the restaurant is just OK, but with a good location, so just take tour time in there.

This is a nice place completely different from what it used to be: one of the best gourmet restaurants at the city. Now it is a hipster place with a small menu, a great view and a space to co-work and enjoy a small art (bad) gallery. In terms of reviewing the restaurant, it has a very nice view to Chapulteplec lake, and the service is pretty good. The menu is very small like in a hipster-like cafeteria and the dishes are very small too. It is nice to enjoy a fast experience with the view, but not to have an incredibly tasty or well served meal.

The space itself is worth a visit, even if you don't eat here. There is a cool art exhibit you can check out as well. We sat outside near the lake. The view was amazing. Any table you have in the restaurant will be great. Mainly the design is the selling point (but the food and drinks were still really good).
