The hostel is ok the internet works well in the main area but not the best in the rooms, the breakfast was very small, the staff was friendly, most of the travelers were Spanish speakers, which made my experience not as good because my Spanish is bad but that's on me, the beds/hostel were clean and the shower did not have hot water

A handyman was meant to open up a locker that the lock was still on, but was not being used. He opened the one next to it, which was mine. I came home one evening to see it unlocked and thought someone took my stuff. Stuff was still there. But I was surprised that the handyman couldn't realise that he made a mistake with the locker, and that my locker was left unattended all day. Very poor and a good job that nothing was stolen, otherwise I would be looking at legal action. The locker is anyhow unsafe, as anyone can put their hand through to access any locker under the mattress of the bed. Ontop of that, terrible facilities. 1 toilet/shower to 10 people and generally poor facilities in the toilet within my room. Breakfast is a bit of a joke and a waste of time/money investment. You need about 5/6 of those to even get close to being full up. Really poor stay and a generally charmless hostel.

Les Trois Singes The name says friendly hostel but the staff here are very unfriendly. The first receptionist I dealt with did not seem bothered I was there at all, although thankfully the second one was a bit better. The hostel is very run down and basic, much different to how it's portrayed in pictures. The sign outside lists a bar, solarium, yoga area etc inside but whenyou look, it's either not there are looks like the remnants of a construction site. The wifi is only usable in reception area - it is very poor and inconsistent in the rooms. There is no atmosphere here at all and no-one uses the pool. For dinner I purchased a 120 pesos promo of a beer and a burger. A lady, called Camille I think, tried to upsell me two burgers for 240 pesos as if it was an offer - despite one costing exactly half as much, and coming with a free beer. When I gave her money, she said she had no change and asked to keep 30 pesos for tips. It is incredibly rude to ask for tips, let alone a 25% tip on a 120 peso burger! I couldn't believe it so asked her to repeat herself and she asked again. I said no, and she kept 20 pesos anyway and gave me change for the rest (!), also proving she did have change all along. She then tried the trick on an old man who came after me too, I couldn't believe it. Despite there being no-one around, they played loud music all night which I could hear in my room - I was unable to rest, listen to my own music or watch TV because it was so loud. You hear everything in this hostel and the sound seems to amplify on upper floors. Then at 2am a group of Dutch people woke me up having a very loud conversation downstairs. No staff intervened so I had to do it myself. At breakfast, which is served from 8am to 10am, they ran out of milk. This was at 9.30m whilst several of us were getting cereal. Rather than just get more milk, they REFUSED! When I asked why, a lady with curly hair ignored me and walked away. I was shocked at that behaviour. With 30 minutes remaining they refused to get more milk for guests but bizzarely let them continue to fill up cereal bowls and find this out for themselves. Incredibly cheap and wasteful. This is without a doubt the worst place I've stayed in Mexico so far - they are not friendly at all and care only about money and not the guests. Avoid - there are plenty of better places on the island.

I booked this place (for five days) and had to push my reservation with them twice through booking.com due to travel issues and rain on the island. However, they don't have a WhatsApp number that they give to you and don't give you any way to contact them (don't answer FB messages or phones). I sent them a message through Booking telling them I was going to check in the following morning. They charged me for the first night (I figured they would bc it's their policy), but then when I arrived they cancelled my entire reservation and were completely unaccommodating and rude. I asked to see the space because I was at least considering a private, mostly out of convenience because I had been traveling for days, and they wouldn't let me see anything. I spoke to other guests and they said they felt the place was super unsanitary, pool was literally green and dirty, bathrooms were disgusting and few, and the wifi wasn't good. I've stayed in lots of hostels, and none were as gross as this. I will say I'm giving two stars because I think this would be a fine place for a night or two if you're on vacation and looking to sleep in a private (maybe?) but as a digital nomad it was not suitable for work. Alas, I had to scramble to find a place to stay in an extremely touristy area that requires advanced booking. Don't stay here. Just don't. There's other hotels on the island that have just as affordable rates if you search hard enough.

I had a reservation, when I arrived I preferred not to stay there mainly because the receptionist was rude, after I paid she asked for my id and didn't give it back, something I would rather have known when I made the reservation or at least when I arrived. There's no policy informed to guests about this, I had to cancel in order to get my id back my ID!! Wow The receptionist told me the only way to get it back was to cancel and she didn´t know how because she was new, so my only option was to for me to cancel, and now i noticed i was charged in full despite that was the only option, Iive been trying ti contact the hostel but there´s no answer...feeling kind of againste the wall

alright, this hostel definitely serves its purpose. its a somewhat budget option conveniently located with a social environment. the staff was very friendly and the breakfast was decent. However there were a few things i would have liked to have known. the wifi is terrible, it does not work in the rooms and hardly works in the lobby area. it is loud, as most hostels are but definitely pack your ear plugs for this one. We booked a snorkel tour through the hostel that was not bilingual! I understand we are visiting a place that speaks spanish but that would have been good to know especially since its pretty obvious we were not fluent in spanish. and one day when we got back to our room we discovered our ceiling fan had been mysteriously removed? not a terrible experience but definitely has some quirks
