Was a little hesitant to come here because I really wanted authentic Mexican breakfast and right off the bat the entire menu is in English. However, super glad I came and highly recommend this place. Angel is the owners son and was our waiter. Super friendly and great customer service. I got the gorditas, which were legit! Support this little family business!

Cute little place for breakfast. There are 3 tables inside and 3 tables outside, but the place is very open air. The server (Angel) was sweet and very polite. Unfortunately the Madrez chorizo gorditas was sold out at 10:15AM but Angel was helpful recommending the popular dishes and his own personal favorite. We ordered the tangy bagel and the breakfast bagel, and they were both very delicious. The salsa Rojo was excellent and spicy!!! ???We ordered a latte and a fresh lemonade. The lemonade was also good. It is a nice mom/Madre kitchen, which makes me very happy to support.

We stumbled across Madrez on our way to our hotel, and we're so glad we did! The food is excellent- we had the chorizo gorditas and the homemade waffle, and we were blown away by the flavour and texture of both. Our iced mochas were tasty and very much needed in the Playa heat! Be aware it's cash only to pay here. Special shout out to Angel, our server, who was so friendly, helpful and kind. Will be back again next time I'm in Playa.

Great breakfast in playa del Carmen. Amazing mouth watering waffles and fresh ingredients. The problem is we tried going there twice and they weren’t open. The hours should be updated as they only open around 8-830. Not consistent unfortunately :(

Their fresh squeezed orange juice was the best I’ve had!! What a great place tucked away from 5th. The energy in here was welcoming and the kitchen was working very hard to make fresh and delicious food. The server here is a young man who speaks perfect English (even though I spoke Spanish) and his attention to detail was impeccable. The menu I had was listed in both Spanish and English so don’t let that deter you from visiting. In fact, don’t let anything stop you from visiting!! Highly, highly recommended.

Best waffle I had in the world so far. Worth flying all the way to Playa Del Carmen when you want t good waffle with lots of butter on it ♥️? Updated review 3rd time I go, the tea cup is half empty, if they sell tea, they need to serve a real size, no matter the price. I will not come back and downgraded my review.

The greek yogurt with fruit was delicious on the sourdough waffle at Madrez Cafe. It's awesome that they serve real maple syrup. The raspberry lemonade was really good. Staff was very friendly.

Arrived at their opening time 7:30am, but they opened at 7:45am so we had a drink at the cafe next door. They just changed location, so there are still changes underway, but the new spot, esp seating in the back, is tasteful. The cafe itself is down the block from the beach. The food came out nice and hot, and the waffle taste is def unique & unlike American waffles. It pairs well with the maple syrup and adds that sweetness. The staff was pleasant.
