★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The most popular place to visit in P.V. Not a place to get deals in the shops as they cater to tourists and are priced accordingly. Two blocks east and the prices go way down. You can and should negotiate with the merchants. Do not buy Tequila on the Malicon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The usual tourist spot, vendors and knick-knacks, but a beautiful boardwalk. Husband's will be like, whatevers and roll their eyes, wives will definitely take a million photos and want to check it off the must do list, so wear some good shoes gentlemen! ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice pedestrian waterfront. Visited Vallarta during Dia de Muertos festivities and did enjoy it a lot. There are many statues and artwork along the path. Most of them are very beautiful and well elaborated. This walk is highly recommended regardless of the festivities.

Not the best for swimming with kids.
The negatives: The water was a bit grimy. Vendors try to sell you something every 10 mins. The shoreline is rocky.
The positives: easy access. Umbrella rental is available. Lots of food options on the beach from the same vendors.
I would go back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful and safe. You will not be disappointed. Great for the family and the locals are very friendly. If you want to eat great food leave the tourist area and go to el Pitillal local town. Excellent food and cheap. Trust me my family lives here. I live in the USA and come to visit often.
