★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice store, we had a "free" transport from the hotel to playa del carmen with a stop here. Free because of the stop. Who is not buying anything, jewlery or tequila will spend anyhow over one hour here. Prices are quite high, with some negociation you can get something at a resonable price.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Matises was a great place to stop and enjoy part of the flavor of Mexico. We went there to taste tequila and stayed there for a bit longer for shopping and fun. The staff was very nice to us, they dedicated their time to make us feel welcomed. My family enjoyed walking around and doing some shopping. They offer live entertainment, games & photo opps. The building is beautiful and vibrant. Go relax and sip on some tasty tequila. Enjoy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tourist trap. Our hotel promised us a free shopping tour with a tequila house. We didn’t realize that meant you would have to commit to 45 minutes of jewelry shopping for a bunch of overpriced, gaudy silver. After the jewelry, they bring you next door to the tequila house where you get — maybe — one shot of tequila at most, and they try to sell a bunch of overpriced tequila. When you don’t purchase anything, you sit and wait for a van for 45 minutes to finally bring you to Playa Del Carmen for some shopping. Long story short, avoid this. Pay for a taxi directly to the city. As I write this we are sitting inside the van out front of the tequila house, and not moving. Unfortunate waste of time and I wish we had known better.
