Mex Rent A Car - 29176 Tuxtla Gutiérrez

If I could put zero, definitely I would. I did my reservation in this car rental because they supposed to work 24h. It was really important for us because we had late flight, I also marked the flight number in my reservation. After I had came to the registration desk at 22:50 I saw anybody, just the note with a cell phone number. After I called to this number, I was told that the office is closed and I can come back at 7 am. Just to clarify, my reservation was prepaid and I had to drive nearly 2 hours to my accommodation, I really needed that damn car. Hopefully the guys from another car rental were open and had a free car and I reached my destination. It was really upsetting to see such unfair service and I hope that Mex Rent will give my money back.

These scam artists will try to charge you extra at all times if you reserve a car at a lower price they will always charge you extra by lying about a car not being available so you have to pay extra for a better car don't believe them then take a collective instead around Chiapas..

Worst company ever!! Dont rent from them. Made a reservation 5 months in advance and when the pick up dat arrived they said the car we had reserved was in an accident and they didnt have anymore of them cars. Which was a lie all other companies where pricing their mini van high ans since we got for a great price they invented lies and didnt honored price. They also said they didnt have a number to call us to inform us about how they didnt have a car for us. They had and email and phone number but never reached out. Garbage

I Traveled to Tuxtla Gutierrez Chiapas to get to Cintalapa Chiapas from Houston Tx. The help i received from representatives Ms. Caroli A. and Mr. Ever A. was Awesome! No issues, they helped me throughly to go in and out no problems . The rental car was Clean and great ,I Truly recommend it to any one traveling Chiapas Mexico "Magic State" hands down ! .

Scam artists, dont reserve online and pay because theyll lie at countet and say they don't have the care you reserved available and make you pay 400 pesos extra per day for a bigger car. Seems like mafia control of car rental in tuxtla. All set to charge 900 pesos per day or more

Reading the reviews, we did not pay in advance, so as not to have a hassle if a car is not provided. We chose them because they were the only ones to offer full coverage. The car was there, it was in an OK shape and quite clean. They were also nice about returning times. Some things we didn't like: - they asked us to send them a copy of our outbound ticket, something we never had been asked before. Supposedly because of robberies... but what, is that not why my credit card is asked and a big amount blocked? why would a ticket I can buy for 20 euros be worth more than that?! It's OK if they tell us in advance they need this, and we prepare the document covering all the sensitive data. But they didn't so we had no chance. - the price increased by over 5% compared to the time of booking (they said it's due to currency change... uhm, from pesos to pesos? but it was not very convincing) - some things on the car were not working, like the horn and the chargers (both 12V and USB), but we noticed it too late

Don’t rent from this company or rentalscars.com. Terrible experience. I had a prepaid reservation to pick up a car at 1pm. When I arrived at the counter, they took all my documents while they in processed me for 15 minutes. They then told me my car would not be ready until 6pm. I asked for a full refund. They said ok and told me they reached out to rentalcars.com, but they never did. I then had to contact rentalcars.com myself and they refused to reimburse me even though MEX rental was unable to honor my existing reservation. It was a total mess and I ended up using Europcar at the airport and they gave me the same rate. Don’t waste your time with this rental company. It will cost you more time and money in the end.

We had a great experience with Mex. New car, full insurance, good price. We reserved the car directly, not via aggregators. Expect that generally in Chiapas car rental prices are higher that in Cancun, Merida or other popular touristic places. We had an issue with the car when I broke the plastic cover over the tire, and I had concerns that I might have difficulties while returning the car (it often happens with car rental in Mexico). As a result, no issues, it was covered by the insurance, the whole process of returning the car went super smoothly. Definitely recommend to use their services.
