During the last 9 months I have engaged MexLaw PdC for representation in the sale of my house, in the purchase of a condo, and for assistance with obtaining documents from the Tulum muni that I needed to transfer utility accounts to my name. My primary contacts have been Cinthya Garcia and Mariana Valladares. In addition, Gerardo Gonzalez prepared the calculations for Mexico capital gains tax and graciously walked me through the calculations (which are as complicated as, if not more than, any IRS worksheet I have ever seen). My experience with MexLaw PdC has been nothing but excellent in all respects - professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and worth every penny I paid.

We engaged MexLaw in August 2021 to handle the sale of our Puerto Aventuras condo. We choose MexLaw over another competing firm for two reasons - the good Google reviews and, through two MexLaw individuals, confirming that the estimated capital gains tax was in MXN not USD. After signing and sending in deposits, we were informed that they made a mistake and indeed the tax was in USD. Although we knew it was too good to be true, we were amazed that over multiple emails with more than one person they said it was in MXN. We were then assigned a young attorney who prepared paperwork to extinguish our trust and create a new one for the buyer. After many delays trying to reach him, he was "reassigned to another department" and we were assigned to the head of the real estate group. We lost over a month as she had to start over and properly make the transaction a sale of our trust to the buyer. Cynthia did do a very professional and thorough job at that point, but again we lost time and had to change our travel plans for closing. We established a firm date to close by with the buyer and MexLaw which was stated in the agreement. However, on the eve of closing, the buyer unilaterally contacted MexLaw and requested to postpone the closing for a few days to finish some repairs. MexLaw was going to allow this without our approval. We had to force MexLaw to follow the exact wording of the agreement which stated closing by that date and that it was not contingent on doing any repairs. Basically, MexLaw did not consult with us and was going to dismiss the language of the agreement with simply the buyer's request. To Cinthya's defense, she was in Europe at the time and the closing was being handled by someone else. In sum, Cinthya Garcia was good to work with but the rest of the team struggled.

MexLaw has been a terrific choice in law firms for me. As an American citizen, I needed a firm that would easily help me navigate the Mexican real estate system. MexLaw has been everything and more. I highly recommend!!!

We have been very happy with the services of Mexlaw for our property purchases in Mexico. They made the process transparent and straightforward. Cinthya Garcia was especially good and proved to be our advocate, looking after our best interests, on a couple of occasions. We would recommend Mexlaw, and have done, to family and friends, who had similar experiences to ours. Thanks

As a buyer I needed help with a "Promise to Purchase," which is the agreement between buyer and seller. The service was quick and the lawyer made sure to bring to my attention some risks in the purchase process. She also dealt directly and in Spanish with the seller at times, and that seemed to get to an understanding/agreement faster. I'm happy that I found the MexLaw website and I will use them again.

We worked with Mariana to complete a purchase of an investment property in Playa Del Carmen and can say that she was a great partner throughout the whole process. Making an investment in another country can be a bit overwhelming or intimidating if you don't understand the details but Mariana made every effort to make sure we were informed and comfortable every step of the way. She was knowledgeable, helpful and responsive while also being very proactive in her communications, which made her a pleasure to work with. Would highly recommend MexLaw and specifically Mariana for their legal services and would absolutely partner with them again!

I'm a real estate broker in California. Real estate transactions are very different in Mexico. I got a little nervous sending money directly to the developer on a new construction so I hired Jonathan Ara at Mexlaw to overlook everything and after getting him involved he made feel more comfortable moving forward with my purchase. He is very knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend them to anybody looking to buy in Mexico, especially with their services being affordable.

Mex Law is a wonderful law firm, is the second time i hired them and both times the service has been top notch, you can buy your property and make sure they will take care of everything just to call you to sign the final papers. My lawyer was Beatriz an amazing lawyer that even helped me with some paperwork about my property taxes even after my service with them was over ( without charge ). Hire them for anything and have a piece of mind, and make sure that all will be good with your property. And if you’re lucky enough to have Beatriz I guarantee you a amazing experience.
